I'm looking to get certified as an expert in Excel, and there are a ton of tutorials out there. Any of yall have a favorite or a recommendation?

I don't want to waste time slogging through one that's not all that great.

what the hell does that mean?

if someone is offering a "certification", then they should also offer tutorials or something. Or at least a list of topics you should cover

There is a tutorial from Microsoft online, and they run the certification tests. But, I would prefer an array of options including video, audio, and text that MS itself does not have.

If you can handle pivot tables and VBA macros, you're an Excel expert.

^ i wouldn't be that cynical.... There is a ton of other built-in functionality that most people never even scrape the surface of in their day-to-day use.

But without any kind of list of what this certification is supposed to cover, i'm not sure if Tulip is going to find any help.

one place to look, actually, is the official Excel 2007 Development Blog. MS used this blog to introduce people to Excel 2007, but it also contains plenty of good info for legacy products. Check the "Tags" box on the right side to see the different categories

there are a ton of so-called "experts" in Excel that don't understand a fraction of what Excel is capable of. a lot of people think being able to write a macro in excel makes them an expert when there is already a built in function that does what they wrote crappy code for.
