Ok, my apartment is doing away with their wireless service. Who do yall recommend for internet? I know bellsouth and Time Warner cover Avent Ferry Road. Is there others?
Looking to not spend a whole lot, I know Time Warner has a 6 month deal for 29.99, then jacks it up to 45 after that. I never used Time Warner, but I heard some pretty shitty things about them. Do you think it would be feasible to keep them for 6 months and then drop them? Some companies are pretty crazy about canceled service fees.
Bellsouth has: Quote : | "FastAccess DSL Direct 1.5M: $37.95 per month FastAccess DSL Direct 3.0M: $42.95 per month" |

I have the DSL 1.5 and it is plenty fast for me. but then again, I live in a neighborhood full of old peope so not a lot of people were sharing the pipe. being in a apartment complex with a bunch of college kids, no matter what service you chose will probably lag at times.
^ is correct

TWC fucking sucks ass. But you're stuck with it if you want at least a half decent service.
I've heard clearwire isn't bad, but the reception is somewhat shakey? anyone else know? 10/15/2008 1:08:27 PM |

^ I don't think so. why? It is not like I've been paying for the current service or anything, when I first moved in I thought it costs like $10/month, but have yet to pay for it. So its been like a bonus I guess. 10/15/2008 3:53:07 PM |

Clearwire is garbage. Saying the reception is somewhat shakey is a drastic understatement. And even if you are fortunate to live in an area with badass reception, their customer service blows. You can find tons of stories of people who had great signal for a few months in their house then all of a sudden nothing. Called to get out of their contracts........ well, you can probably figure out the rest.
Honestly, if you are considering Clearwire, you are better off just getting a wireless card from your cell phone provider.

Same here. I had TWC for a good 5 years and never had problems. I had tons of problems with the TV side, but the internet never went down and was always plenty fast. I had AT&T for 3 months when I moved into my house and it was nothing but problems from day 1. Every time it so much as drizzled, my internet would go down. I canceled it and went back to TWC.10/15/2008 4:35:25 PM |
