If all the stations lowered their price to the national average overnight then there would be a massive run on the gas stations, they'd run out, and we'd be right back in this mess. They are doing us all a favor by keeping the prices high. Plus it's not like the price can dip much further. At least $2.50 of that price is the NC gas tax.

Last week I was in Kentucky...Lexington gas was $2.86 & Louisville was around $3.07 mostly. Got back here Sunday night & see $3.49, the same as when I left
