OBAMA FIRES A 'ROBIN HOOD' WARNING SHOT
http://www.nypost.com/seven/10152008/news/politics/obama_fires_a_robin_hood_warning_shot_133685.htm
Quote : | " WASHINGTON - You won't find it in his campaign ads, but Barack Obama let slip his plans to become a modern-day Robin Hood in the White House, confiscating money from the rich to give to the poor.

Conservatives yesterday ripped Obama after he was caught on video telling an Ohio plumber that he intends to take the profits of small-business owners and "spread the wealth around" to those with lesser incomes.
The fracas over Obama's tax plan broke out Sunday outside Toledo when Joe Wurzelbacher approached the candidate.
Wurzelbacher said he planned to become the owner of a small plumbing business that will take in more than the $250,000 amount at which Obama plans to begin raising tax rates.
"Your new tax plan is going to tax me more, isn't it?" the blue-collar worker asked.
After Obama responded that it would, Wurzelbacher continued: "I've worked hard . . . I work 10 to 12 hours a day and I'm buying this company and I'm going to continue working that way. I'm getting taxed more and more while fulfilling the American Dream."
"It's not that I want to punish your success," Obama told him. "I want to make sure that everybody who is behind you, that they've got a chance for success, too.
Then, Obama explained his trickle-up theory of economics.
"My attitude is that if the economy's good for folks from the bottom up, it's gonna be good for everybody. I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."
Critics said Obama let the cat out of the bag.
"It's clear that his main goal is redistribution of wealth, not growth," said Andy Roth with the anti-tax group Club for Growth. "He's perfectly happy to destroy wealth as long as he can redistribute it."
Obama has been meticulous, Roth said, to conceal the "socialistic" nature of his tax plans. "But every once in a while, he lets it slip," he said.
Republican candidate John McCain yesterday charged that Obama's comment was telling.
"This explains how Senator Obama can promise an income-tax cut for millions who aren't even paying income taxes right now," he said in Pennsylvania.
"My plan isn't intended to force small businesses to cut jobs to pay higher taxes so we can 'spread the wealth around.' My plan is intended to create jobs and increase the wealth of all Americans."
Meanwhile, a New York Times/CBS poll last night showed Obama moving into a commanding 53-39 percent lead.

The quote about "spread the wealth around" is from a pretty credible source: Barack Obama. There are audio clips if you don't believe me. I'm sure I can find one on youtube real quick if you would like.
Let alone the fact that half of the great credible sources in TSB are DailyKos, huffingtonpost, and other heavily liberal biased sites.

what you are failing to mention is that all the small business owners and rich people who are going to suffer under Obamas tax plan are all the greedy wall street people who caused this financial crisis and they must be punished.
Obama will punish all those evil rich people - they made their money unethically and without regard to the poor people 10/15/2008 10:54:56 PM |

CEOs Favor McCain 4 to 1
Quote : | "John McCain is the hands-down preference for president among corporate chief executives, according to a recent survey by Chief Executive magazine.
Barack Obama fared miserably in the survey which showed a 4 to 1 preference for the Arizona senator.
In fact, 74 percent of the 751 CEOs surveyed believed Obama would be a disaster for the country." |

not at all man i just understand how easy it is to make money once you have it
it def doesnt involve digging ditches or planting crops with your own two hands
i also know that as a reasonable human being, if i was making millions of dollars
and was asked to give a few hundred thousand back to hopefully make the country a better place
i really wouldnt cry about it

yes, it would be one thing if you were asked. Obama won't be politely "asking" them to do that. He'll be demanding it, or he'll throw their ass in jail. That's a massive difference. It's also a massive difference when he demands that the top 1% pay 90% of the country's taxes. that's just a little fucking different 10/15/2008 11:43:15 PM |

The problem is when you have a politician telling you what you can do with your money and taking it against your will.
You have every right to give your money to whoever you want. And if you are really interested in doing so I suggest you give directly to that charity or individual, and not through a corrupt govt.
Im morally opposed to any politician assuming it owns a right to ones property and think it knows a better way to use it than the actual owner.
I dont think youll disagree with that. 10/15/2008 11:44:25 PM |

9on9, I knew what your point is.. But what im trying to illustrate to you is you have no idea what financial commitments someone with a higher salary has, just as they have no idea what your commitments are. That is why its immoral for you to assume how much or little someone else needs of their income that they worked for. THAT was my point.
However, you tried to go noble and say you would give 100ks more if that is waht your leader needed to fix shit.. well why dont you give more now? Since you feel its ok for other to give to fix shit.. but you seem unwilling to sacrifice some of your income to help out.
You dont see your views as the least bit selfish? 10/16/2008 12:09:04 AM |

The irony being if your taxes were lower you'd be able to spend more. The same goes for businesses and other individuals. If joe the plumber doesn't have to pay a bunch of taxes on his 250k, he can afford to hire more people or give them better salaries. And if those salaries aren';t taxed heavily, then those people have more to spend.
Whereas if the fed gets Joes money, he has fewer employees, lower wages, and cant afford to give them benefits. And the tax money just goes into a black hole. It comes out the otherside going to businesses that failed and failed programs. 10/16/2008 12:13:01 AM |

what you're aren't understanding is that while you think millionares aren't using that "extra" money, unless they're idiots they are.
Lower taxes means you have money for your kid and millionares have more money to give you. If you rely on a middleman to take his cut and pass on the rest, you'll end up with less overall. 10/16/2008 12:20:13 AM |

Let me correct this logical fallacy...
Barack Obama is NOT Robin Hood. Barack Obama is NOT a common man taking tax money and giving it to the poor. Barack Obama does NOT know how to use a bow (or gun for NRA nuts).
Barack Obama IS more like Prince Charles taking tax money from the rich and asking the most honorable Sheriff of Nottingham to hand it out. Barack Obama WOULD play a better "Dave Chappelle" in tights than John McCain. 10/16/2008 9:36:18 AM |

^^^Because the upper incomes have a large tax increase to pay for his programs, while the lower class gets refundable tax credits. A present example is Earned Income Credit, which nearly eliminates FICA/Medicare tax for lower income families. Around a third of filers pay nothing besides the payroll tax ... or the net after EIC. 0bama wants to go beyond that, handing out welfare checks for college tuition, mortgage interest, savings, child care expenses, expanding the earned income credit, and "make work pay." 10/16/2008 10:13:33 AM |

Obama wants to raise taxes 3% on people making between 250k a year and $1m a year. The largest tax increase would be for people making over $1m a year. Why are you people fighting so hard for this incredibly small fraction of society that I doubt any of you belong to?
You do realize that without the middle class, there is no America, right? How can we buy all the things that the CEO's companies make if we have no money with which to buy it? The middle class is getting left in the dust compared to the upper class and even moreso compared to the super upper class. It's about time all you people got with the program and reined in these people who don't give a flying fuck about you. This is the only chance we have to exert what little power and influence we have over them and you dumbasses are too busy arguing in favor of them to get your heads out of your asses. They control more of our lives than we do theirs 364 days a year and this is the once chance every couple of years to even the stakes. McCain will not do this. Obama will.
Money is power and the top 1% control a shitload more power than they deserve. This has nothing to do with punishing success. This has to do with rewarding ourselves for all the hard work we subject ourselves to in order to make these people rich. They have nothing without us and yet they fail to realize it. How about we actually band together and take some of it back for ourselves rather than let the country go to complete shit while the rich line their pockets? We can do it now or we can burn the mother fucker to the ground when we realize there's nothing left. I prefer now. 10/16/2008 10:41:58 AM |

We should take it. Because they have the power to take money from us on an everyday basis through higher costs on goods and whatnot. They don't give a fuck about me so I will reciprocate.
You seem to be forgetting that we're going to be owing the government an additional $700 B over the next couple of years. Personally, having not seen a fucking dime of profit out of the chaos that created this mess, I would like to have my share subsidized by the people who did make a profit off of all this because my life is going to be a shitload harder now.
When the economy's going good... fine, let them keep their money. Everyone is being pulled up and everyone is happy. But when they stop realizing that the little man is more important to the welfare of the country than the fat cat, I want to make them bleed. This IS class warfare, and THEY're winning right now because the government is bailing THEM out. YOU are not part of this minority and YOU are losing in this.
