Did a little searching online - I can get a refurbished system control board for ~$40. I might get it just to try and get it up and working...if I do I get a color laser printer for $40. If not, it's only $40. Even the toner cartridges look to be in good shape...

Don't count on the chat tech support guys to know what they're talking about. Go back and ask the same questions see if you get the same response also google the problem if you already haven't.
