My 96 Honda Accord shows the "Check Engine Light" on. I went to Autozone but they said they can diagnose only cars 1997 and onwards.
Does anyone know what are the likely causes for this and how/where/who can diagnose and fix it?
Thanks! 10/16/2008 10:05:03 PM |

i think on 96 there are only 3 total codes. i would think a mechanic could diagnose it. 10/16/2008 10:12:21 PM |

"What year is your car?" -"2003" "Oh, so sorry man, our machine only reads 2004 and newer."
96 is ODBII, they just didn't want to deal with your shit. ----------------------------------------------------------- Go to another Advance or Autozone, they'll scan it free. Let us know what code it gives, we might can help.

Who cares unless you are up for inspection. 10/17/2008 1:49:33 AM |

^ if it's something like an O2 sensor it will affect gas mileage and driveability. If it's maybe an EVAP code it's more likely to just prevent you from passing inspection. 10/17/2008 8:45:08 AM |
