Yep, my dog too was a little cold this morning and got under the blanket. But our heat is off because my landlord is being an asshole and not answering the phone when I call to complain about the heat situation. Seems like I should have some kind of a legal complaint here.

It's 68 in my apartment, and 35 outside.
Don't have the heat on either.

Yay for living on the 2nd floor out of 3, in a well insulated apartment.

I had to scrape my windshield this morning. I always hate the first day that happens.

My house would be that cold, if my bf's dog weren't a pansy who can't handle the cold. And my cat is sleeping under the covers again

But we broke out the electric blanket last night, and I am wearing my flannel nightgown

You do.
Submit a request for it to be fixed, in writing, and get someone to sign for receipt of it. In that letter, go ahead and state that if it's not fixed by [x time specified by the NC statute governing landlord's responsbilities - chapter 42], you will be filing complaints with [appropriate agencies here]. Then leave him a phone message giving him a headsup that you filed a request for this, and gently remind him of his responsibilities as a landlord, per NCGS 42-42 (Landlord to provide fit premises). This should get his attention, because quoting the chapter will tell him not you're one of the college kids you can jerk around.

My house only got to 61 with the heat off the whole time. You must have really bad insulation if you got to 55 because I know mine is poorly insulated.

I can't wait until the neighbors downstairs turn up their heaters (3rd floor ftw)... I'm freezing in the mornings It's hard getting out of a bed that has a comforter and 3 layers of fleece blankets... Yes, three...

Put a small space heater in the corner of the bathroom when you shower.

i went home at lunch and turned the heat on again. it's still blowing nothing but cold air. i got out one of several space heaters left over from last winter. i turned it on and went into the kitchen to make lunch. came back and 2 of the cats + 1 dog were curled all up next to it.

i have new insulation in the attic, none under the floor/in the crawlspace. there's probably not much in the walls either

yay for houses built in 1964
