My biggest problem with WKNC is that the DJs don't know what to say very often, and their voices sound stupid. I don't know if other radio stations use equipment that makes their DJ voices sound deeper or more tonal, but it sounds like little children on WKNC usually (there's one guy that does a good job, but I don't know who).

It seems like all of the new DJ's absolutely suck. They babble about things (usually personal and/or completely irelevant) that no listener would begin to care about, they don't really seem that knowledgeable AT ALL, and they kinda just play mediocre music compared to what I've come to expect from WKNC during my 4 years at State.

For the past few months I've been disappointed in the overall quality of the station, but I've got faith it will improve.

I tune in to knc once a week or so and every single time I feel like the kids running the show are complete tools, doesn't matter the show. How about at least a tiny bit of professionalism. It's like, they don't expect people to be listening, so they just fuck off about whatever it is they please. Stay on topic about the music, show how knowledgeable you are about it, and just play the shit.

I caught a sliver of the show around midnight Friday and some dude was bragging about a pitcher of beer he drank and how he was feeling it a little. No shit? Welcome to college asshole, do you have maybe an interesting story to go with that about how you got shitfaced with some metal band you're about to play or something?

The DJs aren't that great, and their musical taste is questionable. I listen at random times during the day, but 80% of the time the singer of the obscure (therefore awesome?) band has no talent and/or ability.

It's a shame, really. WKNC has raised me for the past 8 years. Maybe I'm just getting old and don't understand these "kids'" music?
