So I'm real picky about halloween costumes. If I can't think of a clever/innovative costume...then I won't dress up.

These aren't anything special...but for examples, these are the ones i've done in the past 5 or so years:

- Wore basically all grey....sweatshirt, sweat ptans, toboggan. Then glued over a hundred marshmallow peeps on myself. Chick magnet.

- Zach Morris. Not really that clever. But I did manage to find a real 1980s brick cell phone. Bayside t-shirt, acid wash jeans and jean jacket. white high-top sneaks. The brick cell phone made it.

- Steve Irwin. Khaki buttoned short sleeve shirt. Khaki short-shorts and boots. Then got a stuffed stingray from the local acquarium...cut it in half...glued half on the back and the other half on the front of the shirt...fake blood. One of those "too soon" costumes...but it worked.

So anyone got any ideas?? Something along the lines of the costumes mentioned above.

(and fuck the halloween costume thread...this is specific)

Google. I'm sure tons of bloggers out there would love to help you.

Seriously, though, I'm really bad at costume ideas... which is why I'm just going as Agent Smith from the Matrix, because I've done it before and I know it works.

Hey...I didn't say they were great...they just aren't the normal ones you get every year. Thread wasn't made to brag about former costumes...but to get ideas about new ones.

Do that every year....and 99% of the time the suggestions blow.

Kind of always wanted to do Doug.

I had a group of friends one year that did "Guts" from the old Nickelodeon days. They got those lights that you can stick on walls and when you push them in they light up. They would stick those all over the bar and then put an Agro-crag at the end of the bar...and then run through the bar hitting the lights and grab the acro-crag. Then someone would let off a smoke bomb right underneath the person who grabs the agro-crag. Pretty bad-ass if you ask me.

Played out Halloween ideas:

-Things from Nickelodeon
-Things from your youth
-Recent celebrity deaths

You're completely derivative, jbrick83, how does it feel?

^Yeah....but you're not buying a complete costume. And I think costumes from recent movies or television shows (Borat, the movie 300, or characters from Scrubs) are more "played out" than celebrity deaths. At least it takes a little balls to mock someone's death.

And same goes with the nickelodeon and things from childhood...it does take a little creativity.

And how about you come up with something that isn't played out if you know so much about it?

Wear a wife beater, ripped up pants, duct tape a gun to your back, and walk around with bloody barefeet yelling "Yippee-ki-yay, motherfucker!" the whole night.

I'll be wearing the BTTF2 Solar Shades to at least one party. I'm also going to make a hover board, and make a pin that says, "National Champions on top, have a block S in the middle, and then have 20[mustard stain covers the other 2 numbers] on the bottom.

Back in the day I had to attend a Halloween Party...

My mom said she would take care of my costume. Well she 'surprised' me with a clever costume; she bought a beret, an artist palette and then a bunch of spiderwebs to wear. She said that my costume was a 'web site design artist' or some shit. I didn't attend that party.

I've always wanted a group of friends to rent/buy old wheelchairs somehow

and all go as the wheelchair brigade.

- Professor X
- FDR
- Stephen Hawking
- Christopher Reeve (wear a supes shirt)

etc

mostly because you'd get to spend the whole night sitting
