I hate liberal hollywooders. Always whining and complaining about the poor, the hungry, and the needing, crying that we should help them. So what do they do? They want higher taxes on lower classes to help these people, when these hollywooders are sitting on billions of dollars. If they're so concerned, why don't they do a little more to help than depend on those with less.

Income: $20,000
Standard Deduction: $5,350

Taxable Income: $14,650

Social Security/ Medicare (~7%): $1,400
Federal (10% up to $8025): $802.50
Federal (15% up to ~ $32,000): $993.75

Total Federal Taxes: $3,196.25

To have zero federal income tax liability you'd have to make less than $5,350 and you would still pay Social Security/ Medicare. Correct me if my assumptions are wrong.

I know SS/Medicare is not a "tax" but since I will never see it again, it might as well be. They don't even descriminate between money brought in through SS/MED and income tax witholding anymore if I am not mistaken.
