Obama is not a messiah of any sort. its only republicans who think this is an issue.
the views obama holds are essentially in agreement with every thoughtful, rational, progressive person across this nation.
what obama does is elucidate these commonly held values in a way that is inspiring. he's able to speak not only to liberal democrats, but moderate independents and even rational conservatives in a way that is inclusive, and not the typical partisan attempts to divide and conquer.
whats REALLY important is that Obama surrounds himself with experts in the various fields to advise him. John McCain apparently doesnt have a single scientist advising him on any policy matters. 10/29/2008 1:31:57 PM |

meh . . . .. .Im gonna disagree here
Listen Im glad you are excited your Candidate is about to win (Hell, to me its impressive you are even excited about a candidate)
But
Do you actually think Obama is going to "change" that much? My prediction is that he will be another politician working in the same system. If he were going to "change" things, the establishment never would allow him to win.
If in fact Obama does become president and fixes everything (or even a few things) then please call me out and I will gladly eat my words. Until then I remain skeptical.
(note Im niether a McCain or Obama supporter)10/29/2008 1:51:01 PM |

Haha are you kidding?
Since when were conservatives interested in drastically disrupting the status quo and then choosing to write their new constitution on the principles of the Enlightenment, and unparalleled liberal viewpoint on freedom and acceptance? The founding fathers would vomit at the thought of what modern conservatives have done to the principles of freedom and justice, and their rejection of intellectualism and reason for blind ideology.10/29/2008 5:33:56 PM |

^^ Oh, I see, you don't actually know what you're talking about.
How could the founding fathers have believed in a constitution that didn't exist yet?

You do realize that the conservatives of today believe in everything the founding fathers did. The founding fathers didn't believe in the constitution which hadn't been written yet. They believed in the principles which it was founded on. The formation of a new constitution was radical at the time. The radicals of that time are now the conservatives of todays time. It's not that hard to figure out. 10/29/2008 5:57:50 PM |
