If you are 40 years old, have 2 kids, and the highlight of your week is Sunday lunch at Applebees, then Cary is your place.

DUDE, IF YOU THINK DURHAM SUCKS THEN I DO THINK YOU WOULD LIKE CARY BETTER SON.

DURHAM HAS SOME GOD DAMNED SOUL TO IT SONS. RALEIGH IS DEVOID OF ANYTHING RELATED TO SOUL SONS.

CARY IS GENERIC FAKE UTOPIA LAND.

Well I m 23 starting my life now working and going to grad school. I occasionally party but wouldn't wanna stay around bunch of 18 yr olds. I like to get my sleep because I gotta be at work at 6am somedays.

I kinda like staying around people who work at a white collar job not someone who works at Burger King for living and drinks beer all evening on the porch.

I GUESS THAT MEANS ALL THE BUILDINGS DON'T ACTUALLY LOOK SO DAMN SIMILAR THAT EVEN THE GOD DAMNED WENDY'S LOOKS LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE SON. THEY DON'T ALL USE THE SAME TYPE OF BRICK AND THAT GREEN AWNING SON.

NAW SON, THEY CERTAINLY DON'T DO THAT.

SO IT'S CERTAINLY NOT, DARE I SAY, GENERIC FAKE UTOPIA LAND, IS IT SON?

WHAT YOU MEAN IS THAT YOUR IDEA OF A FAKE GENERIC UTOPIA DOESN'T HAVE WENDY'S.

MY DEFINITION OF IT IS CARY AND IT DEFINITELY HAS A WENDY'S SON.

Oh lawd

Raleigh is a big place. Just get an apartment in Brier Creek and I'm sure you will be comfy with all the other yuppies there.

I like Cary because it's quieter than my apartment in Raleigh and it has decent shopping, good healthcare stuff in the area, and well-maintained infrastructure.

It's where people who decide they want to settle down somewhere would like to live.

If you're looking for a safe, quiet, peaceful place to go home to, Cary tends to be pretty good for that. Go buy an apartment in one of the nicer complexes with a bunch of white-collar professionals and enjoy the quiet.

Cary's fine. There aren't many bars with many young people, which is ok sometimes. Depending on which side you can get to Raleigh in only a few minutes. You can get the cops called on you pretty easy if you're partying at your place, but they don't seem to really be into giving out tickets like they do in college towns.

Cary is for upper-middle class yuppies that define themselves by status and laugh at their own jokes.

Only old apartment complexes in Cary will have sketchy people. Namely, some of the ones that are closer to Raleigh off of Buck Jones Rd have problems. Cary Brook apartments and its surrounding apartment complexes (and some of the townhomes) aren't where you want to move to. The farther west you go the nicer it gets. The newer the complex the more young professionals you'll see.

Just use those are your guiding light and realize that, until you stop renting, you're going to be dealing with neighbors that might be "a little ghetto" at times. Unless they're shooting up the place, dealing drugs, and being a violent disruption in the complex, just live with it and save up for a house.

See, that's where you fucked up. You're going to be around dull white collar people all day. It's nice to be able to come home and drink some beer on the porch after a long day of working for the man.

Don't forget there's always apex as well. Out there a little more but depending on where you work the commute might not be bad. Should be some new construction rentals out there at a reasonable price.

Cay is predominately white and non-FOB asians. You'll also see hispanics around there doing yardwork, etc, and they're all legal. The blacks here are all "white".

Pretty tame and boring, if you ask me.

Not as country as Johnston County.
Not as uppity as Cary.
Not as far as Fuquay.
Not as close to Cary as Apex.

Actually, the suburbs in North Durham are QUITE NICE, adn pricier than a good portion of the homes in North Raleigh.

Downtown of ALL major cities in NC are ghetto...and I believe Cary just was the place that had the husband choke his wife and leave her laying in a ditch...so ummm yeah....living in Cary..I THINK NOT!
