yea, i did this back in 2004 with my sociology TA. we flirted all semester, but i didn't go to his place until the night before the final exam - to "study". he told me exactly what notes to review, and gave me a few other pointers as well. and somehow i went from a B- before the final to an A after the final. who'd have guessed?

i dated the guy about a month or two after that, but it kinda lost it's luster once he wasn't my teacher anymore. plus he had this super nasty pipe-smoking habit that just totally turned me off.

during my 2 day TA orientation, we spent a significant amount of time on ethical conduct, sexual harassment, etc...


I remember the year after I stopped TAing, this new TA got called out for 'asking out one of his students'. Yeah, surprise, it was a big deal. He lost his job.

Our company is a real stickler about that too, it creates a lot of paranoia in the employees, and also a lot of tension which only results in crass jokes in the private area upstairs where all the number crunching gets done. If it weren't for all of the sexual harrassment bullshit, we'd be able to socialize more normally I think.

according to my guy, he could do whatever he wanted with me once he had finished grading the final exams and turned in the grades. of course, we didn't wait that long...but that was my fault, not his. i sorta jumped him, haha.
