Gingrich.... hmm... it would be odd, but not crazy, he is a great debater, great campaigner, fiscally conservative, socially he is conservative/moderate (he looks like a progressive compaired to Palin). Honestly, not the worst choice, but he does have some baggage, though he did lead the Republican party during it's resurgence in the 90's but was overthrown by the neo-con/fundies.

If Obama doesn't get some major shit done, he is toast. He built his campaign on a lot of big promises, and even though he is trying to down play them down now, that will only go so far. And he won't be able to run on "Change" anymore. Who knows what will happen in the next 4 years.

Palin won't get the nomination, I would put money on that.

bwahahahaha. Second terms are virtually automatic. Obama just has to keep his dick in his own wife and hope that the economy is a little better than it is now.

Adams one and two, Van Buren, Harrison/Tyler, Polk, Taylor/Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan, Lincoln/Johnson, Hayes, Garfield/Arthur, Harrison, Taft, Hoover, Ford, Carter, and Bush Sr. all served single terms.

That's almost half the presidencies.

^^Now, sweetie pie, figure out how many of those you listed died in office or chose not to run again. Then, figure out how many of those examples are relevant to presidents in the modern era. Then, figure out how many of the remaining got kicked out for simply being mediocre.

Or you can continue to live under the delusion that the challenger has a chance if the incumbent doesn't fail epically.

-------

FYI, the republicans nominating gingrich would be like the democrats nominating ted kennedy -- effective, entrenched, fat, ugly, slobs who have negative appeal to everyone but hardcore party douches.

honestly i was hoping it was gonna be gore versus gingrich this year...i think gingrich woulda been the best candidate the repubs coulda put up in 2008...i figured he didnt want to run cause he knew the tide was so against dems this year that it was inevitable that whoever the dem nominee was, they were going to win

do you ever think before you post?

i mean, really, like ever logically follow these "thought processes" of yours to see where they come from, or where they go?

or do you just randomly type out whatever blip pops into your feeble mind?

^^^^ I'm sure you noticed I lumped together the presidencies were they got in because the first guy died, and also left out the ones where the VP was then re-elected.

People get re-elected if the majority of the population thinks they're doing a decent job? No. Way.
