Don't they have more important things to do? Here's any idea, if you can't get the NFL Network then work harder, so you can get Dish Network, Directv, or afford to pay a bar tab!!!!!!!!!!

^Maybe so, but it's still sports. There are more important things to worry about. Next thing you know the government will require the teams to add 100,000 more seats to each stadium, so everyone can go.

Several fallacies:

1. That the government needs to be sticking its nose into "important things"
2. Slippery slope fallacy about the gov.'s involvement in sports

Not really.

One of the jobs of a senator is to look out for the happiness of his/her constituency.

Congress isn't (and shouldn't be) doing these super important things all the time. Meanwhile, they are in session for like 150 days per year, they have to do something with that time.

Congress looks after business, professional sports = business.

WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?

The people want to see football. They are angry about the utilities and write their representatives. The representatives look into it and put pressure on the utilities. This is America is about. You better believe that if the utilities in Europe weren't getting soccer on the air that they'd be writing their government too. I'm not an avid John Kerry fan but I do commend him for standing up on behalf of the millions of americas that want to enjoy as much football as they possibly can.

You'd think the Internet could correct a lot of these problems. Oh well.
