obama is only down by 4k with some precincts partially reporting

http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/NC/7937/13085/en/md.html?cid=100

even if we go red, it was hella close; glad my vote seemed to make a difference this time

interesting that Bev and Kay received more votes than Obama....think the ballot confused people? Wonder how many people voted straight party and didnt vote for President. In 2004 3%didnt vote for President...of course, it was the Dems that changed it because they were getting tired of NC going red all the time.

well, on zorthage's page, Franklin is blue

it's weird how they (CNN) don't have those results when the state seems to

and vice versa, it looks like Buncombe didn't report to NC yet, but CNN has those results?

the Board of Elections website has:

Franklin County
Dem: 13026
Rep: 12883

but that only helps Obama, so he'd still be ahead with Franklin...

[Edited on November 4, 2008 at 11:44 PM. Reason : I don't know what else needs reporting... 8% of Mecklenburg, last I looked]

Speaker of the House, I assume: that's how the order goes, anyway

Wikipedia points this all out:
Quote :
"Section 3 of the 20th Amendment provides that if the President-elect dies before his or her term begins, the Vice President-elect becomes President on Inauguration Day and serves for the full term to which the President-elect was elected. The section also provides that if, on Inauguration Day, a president has not been chosen or the President-elect does not qualify for the presidency, the Vice President-elect acts as president until a president is chosen or the President-elect qualifies. Finally, Section 3 allows the Congress to provide by law for cases in which neither a President-elect nor a Vice President-elect is eligible or available to serve."
