i thought about it, but i didn't want to waste my vote w/ sarah palin on a ticket.also i'm not versed enough on libertarianism to vote for it in good conscience.
11/5/2008 9:57:15 AM
Your vote "counts" if you write in "Mickey Mouse" on your ballot. Was it worth it? No. Don't feel good about yourself. This was not a time to support a third party candidate.
11/5/2008 10:03:03 AM
Poor Barr and Munger
11/5/2008 10:12:41 AM
Oh God, come off it. So I should vote for something I don't believe in because you desperately wanted NC to be a blue state? It's okay; I still <3
11/5/2008 11:32:03 AM
I got in an argument with my uncle, and Obama supporter, over this. He kept telling me I had to vote for one of the two main candidates or I'd be throwing my vote away. I've reached the point though, that voting something other than my conscience is throwing my vote away. The biggest long term problem facing the United States is the impending fiscal insolvency of the government. Not the economy or Iraq or health care. The solution of both of the primary parties is to spend more money and hope the problem goes away.A two party system gives too much power to the extremes of each party. Even a moderately powerful but 3rd place third party could drag the debate out of the Republican / Democrat dichotomy we're stuck in.Where else is a small-government, non-interventionist, pro-civil rights, agnostic supposed to go anyway?
11/5/2008 11:47:47 AM
this election was actually a great time to vote third party
11/5/2008 12:32:36 PM

11/5/2008 1:13:20 PM
I hear you, jcashfan. Same argument with my in-laws until I told them I would vote for McCain instead. Then for some reason they were fine with my stand. Anyone want to help me start a PAC? One to abolish the straight party vote option?

Clinton dramatically reduced spending which gave the U.S. the first budget surplus in a LONG time.
11/5/2008 2:42:13 PM
i didn't say he didn't. that is completely unrelated to hollister's question.[Edited on November 5, 2008 at 2:49 PM. Reason : and republicans had control of congress for 3/4 of clinton's time in office]
11/5/2008 2:44:04 PM

Voting for someone that you do not understand fully simply because you feel like standing out for the sake of standing out is a simple definition of a shallow simpleton. Nevertheless, I'm glad you rocked the vote.[Edited on November 5, 2008 at 8:33 PM. Reason : -]
11/5/2008 8:32:49 PM
^ yeah.. cause we have no idea of the libertarian agenda[Edited on November 5, 2008 at 8:35 PM. Reason : cocksucker.]
