money jones is right, this movie was incredibly bad ass.

I had really high hopes since I've been waiting about a year to watch this and I was not let down in the slightest.

Fucking great bad ass movie.

I really like Luc Besson, and I liked this. Something seemed off though, I dunno. All the hunting and action was awesome.

I'm not sure how I feel about Liam Neeson in general.

also, a lot of the interaction between him and his family was really really uncomfortable and weird to me, and not uncomfortable in the way the movie was aiming for.

i like the part when he is in the french guy's home at the dinner table and whips out the pistol and caps the wife in the arm, "that one was a flesh wound, the next one will be between her eyes if you dont tell me what i want to know"

^ yes! this was probably the most badass part of the film. But maybe you should give some kind of spoiler warning, because the shock of that scene makes it so much cooler

Tremedously violent, all the actors did a great job. Wasn't all on Liam, the bad guys did a good job on getting pummeled and making it look real. That one guy that had his head whacked onto the toilet in the bathroom that one time sounded real as fuck.

Badass movie. Might even see it again in the theaters if a friend wants to see it. Liam was great.

It saddens me to report that the "american pg-13 version" had to edit out just a tiny bit of the bad assedness of this film. Still everyone who I watched it with thought the movie was insanely awesome and bad ass nonetheless.

It doesn't surprise me though. They were smart enough to shoot alternate scenes that were just slightly less awesome. But they didn't have to edit out much.

I would highly recommend this film to anyone who enjoys a true "guy movie" and I can't wait for the DVD release, which should contain both versions of the film.

I do not like Liam Neeson.

I feel like he's trying too hard for an american accent, so he over-enunciates everything.

You know when you were little, and after you saw a badass movie, you'd emulate the moves with your friends in the parking lot on the way out ?

I haven't done that in 7-8 years, but I did that tonight after seeing this movie

Thats how badass Liam was

My only quibble (and its minor) was that the girl seemed a bit too bubbly at the beginning...she was suppose to be 17, but had the personality of a 11 or 12 year old

Other than that...Flawless Victory

^agreed, she had an over the top stereotypical american girl behavior that resembles what foreigners think we act like
which makes sense cause it was made by a french guy aimed for a european audience

but i think everyone is getting carried away with this "badass" talk
it was badass compared to your average movie but not worth all the hype its getting in this thread

just saying this so no one goes in with an over inflated expectation

last time i probably did that was the first time i saw the matrix

i had read/heard/seen NOTHING about it

so when my boys were like "WE'RE GOING TO A SCI-FI MOVIE!" i was like

omgnerdz

afterwards i was hanging out of a ford explorer yelling whooooo at anyone we rode by at midnight

^^^I'm pretty sure it did live up to the hype.

I thought it was funny that the daughter ran almost EVERYTIME she had to go somewhere. Except one point, but then it was kinda understandable...and then she was back to her running self again.

Take Man on Fire and The Bourne Identity and then mix in a little Under Siege 1 into it and you pretty much have this movie.

that was mine too, she dressed like little miss sunshine, hahah

but i think it was just to play up the innocence and being oblivious to how fucked up the world is

pretty much a don't go overseas and get raped PSA

Great movie that didn't slow down, its like once it got going it was over as soon as you knew it. best part was the scene at the dinner table

I'm not saying it was the best thing since sliced bread, but it was definitely the bee's knees for what it was imo. Much better than any gimmicky tarantino action film as of late.
