Pretty cool if true. Sounds like they will be broadcasting the February 4th game on an ESPN network.

Gotta go dust off my old Ravenscroft gear and head to the Finley Center for the big game!

Ryan Kelly, John Wall, CJ Leslie, Bishop Daniels.....oh my!

Ah, I see what you did there.

Still a great game, tons of implications for tobacco road recruiting!

Ravenscroft has always had good atheletics .... for a private school.

We used to dog them hard in everything but then they'd make the independent championships or some shit.

This team however is legitimately good.

Ravenscroft is a joke of a school. Especially in athletics. Every once in a while their basketball team is halfway decent. But other than those rare years they are a laughing stock in almost every sport.

I had 5 points, 9 rebounds against Word of God in the State tournament in 2001.

Cam stanley and randy pulley were the names but they were pretty loaded.

yeah Stanley was a 6'9 freshman on the '01 WOG team led by Randy Pulley (one of the non-qualifying guys that shady ass Quinn Snyder pulled in at missouri)

They got beat in the championship game by Anthony Atkinson (the famous guy who won the NCAA DII championship singlehandedly) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WzmQmz9Kdc Unbelievable that Campbell let this guy go for getting an argument with the coach.

I actually guarded Dwon Clifton (clemson) a few times when we tried box-and-one against them. I stopped him for a few minutes before he rained a 25 footer in my face at the end of the 3rd quarter.

He's more famous for being the HS coach of John Wall and landing the ast coaching job at Baylor than he is for being a top 40 recruit and turning down a scholarship to UNC to start at Clemson.... that's how good Wall is

Baylor has the inside track with John Wall.

Wall’s AAU coach, Dwon Clifton of D-One Sports, has been hired by Scott Drew as the director of player development.

An official announcement will likely come from Baylor on Friday.

``After receiving offers from several schools from the Big 12 and many other conferences, Dwon has decided to accept a coaching position at Baylor University," Clifton’s brother, Brian, who is also one of Wall’s coaches, texted FOXSports.com.

The 6-foot-4 Wall, who plays at Word of God in Raleigh, N.C., is arguably the top player in the country and is the consensus No. 1 point guard in the nation. Sources indicated that Baylor was in the mix with Oklahoma State and Oregon as the front-runners to land Wall.

Several schools – including Kansas – had tried unsuccessfully to get in the mix with the point guard who has been compared to Derrick Rose due to his combination of size, speed and athleticism.

Sources also indicated that bringing Clifton on board as a coach was critical to gaining a commitment from Wall.

is that true? i wasn't there, but what we're hearing about the cliftons is that they're upset with all of the triangle schools for how dwon's recruitment went.

well he was "offered" pretty early from UNC but i think he kinda got the "well if" treatment later on and basically was like fuck it. He became friends with that big guy from East Chapel Hill (the one with the knee problems) who basically got the same treatment from UNC and so they both decided to go to clemson at about the same time.... can't think of the guy's name... wanna say Chris something he had big gap teeth and always got in foul trouble

And I don't recall Clifton being worth a damn or a starter? I thought he was a huge bust for Clemson?

clifton started as a freshman and was pretty decent. He was mostly a defender/shooter.

He had a heart condition coming into his sophomore year that initially looked life threatening and was forced to give up basketball temporarily until they conducted further tests.

I don't know why he transferred out of Clemson after that whether he was homesick or just didn't like the way CU responded to his medical condition.

he went to millbrook for a year also but he didn't even play on the team despite being the best player in the school as a freshman. moved to georgia for a bit with his brother i believe before moving back to HP.

I was on the team that beat Oak Hill w/ Justin Gray in 2002.

... in tennis.

I actually played doubles against Justin Gray. He wasn't that good, but you couldn't get shots over him.

Is there a box score? All I have gathered so far is John Wall had 8 blocks, 20 first half points, CJ Leslie finished with 19 points and Bishop Daniels had 21
