no, they had a play left and had time to think it out...would have given it to Gore or threw to someone

instead they ran it with robinson or someone on 3rd down, they had the cards on their heels and the refs gave them time to work

although the Cards had plentyyyyyyyyy of chances to seal it but offisides screwed them.

i think they got gyped about 5 seconds. If they are going to review the play, give them all the time back after the end of that play. Otherwise, the 49ers have to reset and that alone takes time. I also don't understand the run at the end up the gut. Quick pass and if it doesn't work at least maybe you have a tick left, and if the receiver isn't open, you roll out and keep your options open.

why they didn't spike the ball after the review, I have no clue. it would have saved a lot of confusion, and with 4 seconds left, its not like they were going to run two plays.

That was some of the worst end game play calling I've ever seen

They get the first down at the 2 with about a minute left

Ok, you don't have to sprint up there and spike it, but they acted like it was a Sunday afternoon stroll, taking almost the entire 40 seconds to spike the ball

2nd down with 20 seconds left...Conventional Non Downs Syndrome wisdom would tell you to throw the ball into the end zone twice, either scoring or stopping the clock. Then on 4th down you would have the option to run or pass, since it would be the last play regardless.

No, you run off tackle...your start RB actually has a great chance to score, but trips and falls at the 2. You scramble like heck to get back to the line and and get one more hurried, unorganized play.

They review the previous play, giving you a chance to gather your thoughts, but you decide to run AGAIN, and don't even get back to the line of scrimmage.

Game over. And Mike Singletary looks like a bigger douche than he did three weeks ago.

I think Singletary is an idiot. He could be a great position coach, but I don't think he has the intellect to be a head coach.

And he shouldn't have called Martz out like that either. They had FOREVER to get together and put in a play that he was satisfied with. They could have done it while the play was being reviewed, or he could have had Hill spike the ball and they could have had time to figure out a play then.

He only has himself to blame for the fuck-ups at the end of that game.
