Anyone else catch this? It's the latest show to come on after entourage and I thought the first episode was pretty good. There's three main characters all played by the same guy, but Jonah seems to be the standout. Here are his clips from the episode.

lol @ Jonah. I wish they would somehow have some interaction between Johan and Greg Gregson. 11/24/2008 10:36:08 PM |

it's a pretty good comedy but it's not lasting. I forgot what happens in the episodes after a day and it's hardly quotable. 12/1/2008 4:27:01 PM |

^It may not be quotable but when I say "miss" or "sir" in a funny voice every five seconds while talking, my friends know what I'm referencing. 12/1/2008 4:31:29 PM |

that's a good thing. a movie or tv show's "quotability" tends to ruin the jokes when everyone says it 908027 times a day. you were probably one of those people who ruined anchorman and napoleon dynamite for me a couple years ago.12/1/2008 8:33:42 PM |

I don't know, I think Mr. G is filled with quality quotes. Off the top of my head (and I realize its not as funny without some context)
"Thank god your here, grandmas been raped."
"I did a show called tsunamara which was about the tsunami tragedy set to the music of bananarama."
and "She was what the kids call a slut...which is a terrible thing to say about someone who just died, but there apparently was no denying she was one."
Plus his songs for the musical are hilarious. The scene where the principal asks him to make the musical about the girl that died tasteful, then they cut to a scene of him singing "She can't help being a slut on a Saturday night."
I also like Jai'me's "Oh you got wheelchair people, thats so cute." and "I don't want to be a bitch, but she is seriously the fugliest girl I have ever seen in my life."12/1/2008 9:03:40 PM |

yeah that was me alright.
look at the arrested development thread with like 7-8 pages in chit chat. you can read that thread and its more hilarious than most tv shows. I don't see that being possible with summer heights high.12/1/2008 10:12:42 PM |

This show is quality. Episode 2 had me laughing my ass off. 1 and 3 weren't as good, but they still made me laugh. 4 is on the DVR right now. 12/1/2008 11:14:58 PM |

that's because there are funny tv shows, and then there's arrested development. it's not really fair to compare anything to it, especially a show that's really only a mini series lasting 8 or so episodes. there wasn't even all that much to remember between the first 3 episodes because nothing had really happened until episode 3 when mr. g started writing the musical about the slutty girl who overdosed on ecstacy, which i thought was pretty funny.12/2/2008 12:30:57 AM |

^^ I wasn't really comparing AD to summer heights in terms of quality but rather it is possible for a show to be quotable without being watered down by casual viewers of a show who only pick up a few catchphrases.
but don't get me wrong. I think this show is great but it doesn't/probably won't have a lasting impression on me like AD, seinfeld, or it's always sunny has. 12/2/2008 12:26:01 PM |

^ i attribute that more to the fact that AD still isn't all that well known. it's also probably too intelligent for a majority of people anyway. and obviously an 8 part mini series won't have as much of a lasting impression compared to shows like seinfeld and AD since those are pretty legendary shows. i haven't seen enough of it's always sunny to comment on that. 12/2/2008 12:44:23 PM |
