how about:
Name one reason he wouldn't be a Hall of Famer?
He's been MVP, He's been Superbowl Champion, He's rapidly climbing up the record books in terms of passing accuracy and passing yardage.
It's really a no-brainer.
He's in. 11/11/2008 10:09:47 AM |

It's insane that KURT WARNER could end up being a 3-time MVP. He's the front-runner for the award this year. 11/11/2008 10:32:32 AM |

Watching the game last night reminded me of those Rams teams from the 99-03 seasons with a little less down field passing.
IMO, Kurt Warner's decline a few years ago was more the result of terrible offensive line play and teams with bad defense. I said months before Warner had that bad hand injury in St. Louis that the line was going to get him killed, then viola.
He has had a pretty crazy career, but this season just shows that brilliance he had when he was the superbowl MVP is still there. 11/11/2008 10:40:10 AM |

Roflburger plays with a glove sometimes when it's cold. There was some controversy about that after he had a few bad games with the glove on. I don't know if he wears it anymore. 11/11/2008 12:13:59 PM |

The Cardinals making the playoffs this year isn't exactly a hard thing to do. Look at the teams in their division: Seattle - obliterated by injuries SF - garbage STL - garbage
I mean Oakland would contend for a playoff spot in that division, haha. 11/11/2008 12:20:14 PM |

Don't compare Big Ben to Warner, For starters Ben won a bullshit superbowl, and there's a reason the Steelers suck when he throws more than 20 times a game, cause he isn't a good QB. 11/11/2008 12:56:19 PM |

This is not impressive. The NFC West is pitiful. They're beating two teams that fired their coaches mid-season and another with one of the best IR teams ever.11/11/2008 1:34:34 PM |

New discussion: How about Kerry Lollins? Like if the Titans were to go 19-0 and he was the MVP of the league/SB, etc.? I seriously doubt it because he's been so up and down and traded around, but this should be grounds for automatic entry.....

Collins also inadvertently slurred offensive lineman Norberto Garrido, who is of Hispanic descent. This resulted in Collins being punched in the eye by Garrido. Collins had stated, in an intoxicated state, that he thought the use of the racial epithet would help him and his teammates bond." |

I simply can't put him in at this point in his career. Yes he was extremely impressive from 1999-2001, but then fairly ineffective from 2002-2006. I do agree he almost completely responsible for the Cardinals turnaround (along with Boldin and Fitz) but he is going to need at least 3-4 more years of this kind of production and/or another ring before I can consider him for Canton. 11/12/2008 12:48:47 AM |

LOL, I too have been drunk beyond the point of logic or common sense.
Kerry Collins will never make the Hall of Fame, nor will he be considered for the MVP this year. He is not a candidate by any means. His current and career stats are decidedly underwhelming, and he stunk up the joint in the biggest game of his career.11/12/2008 12:21:17 PM |

Wrong on both counts. How it is a weak year in the NFL when talent across the board gets better and better each year? Just because it isn't Tom Brady and Peyton Manning getting the recognition doesn't make it weak. I think it has been a devastating injury year for the NFL, but the fact that guys like Mwendele Moore, and Benjavirs whatcha, can come in and produce shows how deep the NFL is.
The thing is, people just say "look at the talent around him in Arizona and St. Louis." I respond that the QB's there before him had same talent and didn't do anything like what he did. He is accurate, he just can't move around so if the line stinks he is cooked. If you don't realize how good he is then you've missed out on watching on of the best QB's of our time the past 10 years, and are just being stubborn because he didn't play big time college football and get drafted first.
Yes he is in the Hall of Fame, he'll get leway because of his late entry into the league, and he had a 2-3 year run where he was as good as any QB EVER.11/12/2008 2:28:32 PM |

I believe he is a HOF'er. He has proven that he belongs with the best. I think the challenge of him coming in and competing at such a high level after not making the league will only add to his career story that will earn him a pass into the HOF.
titans78 Is correct, other QB's had the same opportunity with the talent around them, and yet it seems that only Kurt has been able to produce with them.

It is iffy, but I'd lean towards yes, but only if he finishes this year strong and leads AZ on a good playoff run. If he hadn't blown up this season I think you could safely say that he was a product of the system in St. Louis, instead you have to say that he is a legitimately excellent QB and potentially a 3 time league MVP. No denying him with those awards, a Super Bowl, a Super Bowl MVP, and great success on 2 teams. 11/12/2008 5:10:26 PM |

^^if warren moon is in, then so is steve beaurline, thats a stupid argument
anyways as far as this being a weak year in the NFL i shouldnt even have to site examples but unfortunately yall cant think for yourselves
yes we dont need patriots, colts, cowboys, etc playing at high level to have a good season but who replaced them?
titans? panthers? redskins? you gotta be kidding me, its like replacing a Mercedes with a Kia im a panther fan but as far as im concerned they've only played one good game,
anyways i dont wanna repeat my previous arguments, but just think to yourself, who are the top QB's, DL's, RB's, & ect
im done 11/12/2008 8:20:25 PM |

Huh? what does that even mean? Warren Moon is in the HOF.. he had a very similar career to Warner, if not worse in a lot of areas. He never went to a super bowl, and wasn't a very good playoff QB. He had some up years and down, but always threw for a lot of yards. His career isn't as good stat wise as it might have been because of years playing in the CFL. I think the two are very comparable, where does Steve Beaurline come from? The point was that Moon and Warner are very comparable and Moon is in.
I still don't think you have anything to stand on saying it is a down year in the NFL. Your argument is once again based around big name players, it isn't our fault you don't recognize the people leading the teams this year. The NFL does a great job of spreading talent around, unlike other leagues. This year it just isn't very top heavy, it is wide open. That doesn't mean it is down because there aren't clear favorites. How about you learn some of the players on the Titans, they are pretty damn impressive on the defensive end.11/12/2008 9:02:17 PM |
BiggzsIII All American 5016 Posts user info edit post |
I for one don't see this as being a weak year. There are several teams playing at a high level, and as the statement portrays, "Any Given Sunday." Teams are having to come with it week in and week out. There are not as many pure garbage teams save the Lions and Raiders.
I love the idea of a 14 & 13 win season for a group of teams, but I like it better when you got to play every week to secure a playoff spot and home field. New stars are emerging, and old vets are playing to form, so you never know what the new week will bring.
I don't believe there is a basis for this being a "Weak" Season...nobody is laying down to lose.

when i first read the title, I laughed, but the more I think about it the guy has put up a solid resume. In his down years, his o-line was awful. He isn't going to win any agility drills, but he can gun it. Why not, he's in 11/12/2008 10:27:11 PM |
