Anyone know how to accomplish the simple task of sharing files between two computers on the same wireless router?

Both running Vista 32 bit. All google answers have proven to be incorrect.

I have fully disabled Windows Defender and Firewall, enabled all sharing options possible, and disabled all password requirements. Both machines are naked to the world. Each box shows up in the Network explorer (on both boxes). And STILL cannot connect..."[machine 1] is not configured for file sharing."

Plz help before I relocate this entire desk to the road outside via the window.

reboot, and you have to actually have something shared, not just have sharing turned on
