I don't think an official trailer is out yet but here's a clip from the film:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIEwWpaYfLY

Look like it will be released late December in this area. I'll update when I know our release date for sure.

Some people are viewing this as a way to legitimize the wrestling industry as an entertainment option...but if Beyond the Mat and Wrestling with Shadows didn't do that, I doubt that this can or will.

Anyway, there are a lot of highly skilled technical wrestlers involved in this project who are respected figures in the business for being good workers who care about preserving the honorable parts of the profession, so I'm looking for this to be excellent from both those who are inclined to see Aronofsky films and those who are inclined to watch ROH pay-per-views on DVD.

I would view it as Aronofsky saying "I kick ass and can make a movie about WHATEVER fucking subject I damn well please; even wrestling."

I'm just kidding, I know its not about Shawn Michaels. But that first pick looks just like him, minus the armbands.

shit looks pretty cool.

but goddamn I wish movie critics would update their jargon. so goddamn sick of reading "TOUR DE FORCE" for a standout performance. Seriously, being a movie or book critic has got to the be the most laughable writing job ever.

I've wanted to see this movie since I saw the trailer.

And yes the first picture looks like HBK from his Rocker days, haha. They should get Marty Jannetty to make a cameo in this movie, odds are no one would recognize him.

Movie was awesome...Rourke was great in it, but it also seemed like it wasn't just a role he was born to play, but one that he already was (that doesn't really make sense, but you can figure out what I mean)

Rourke did a great job with the role.

But his character seemed like a mix of Hogan, Michaels, the Macho Man, and Jake the Snake, haha.

Of course he hated it, it reminds him of how many fucking guys from the pro wrestling circuit end up dead at 40 or living our their lives moving from flophouse to flophouse and sucking cock for pain killers.

Found a great video of some wrestlers talking about this movie...Brutus the Barber, DDP, Roddy Piper, Leg Luger, and the Hammer

http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/01/15/pro-wrestlers-talk-about-the-wrestler/

Pretty interesting stuff, I had been wondering what the real wrestlers thought about it

This movie was awesome as hell... I liked it so much that I didn't even mind the awkward scene where he's singing and dancing to Round and Round at the bar. Also, why did he change his entrance music for the last match? Bang Your Head was a way better theme for him than GnR...

definitely one of the better movies I've seen in a while

oh and stripper Marisa Tomei was way hotter than non-stripper version

I saw a video of Penn Jillete saying this was the best movie he had ever seen.

But in retrospect, it might had to do with him getting old or something. And having long hair.

^^He chose GnR because of the scene in the bar where they both agreed GnR was awesome.

And that video with the wrestlers round-table was great. I really hope they include that on the DVD.

I just watched the round table with the wrestlers, pretty good stuff... that's funny how Lex keeps trying to get a word in in the first couple of videos but somebody else just starts talking
