some friends and i have a regular basketball game every sunday and were looking into local leagues that are open for registration in the raleigh area. a little google showed a few leagues that had already started.

anyone know of anything?

Shit, the league I'm in is tough as shit... bunch of AAU kids in it... they are mostly interested in weed and not playing college though, so it makes it a bit easier.

I play in a league where every player on every other team can dunk, while no one on our team can do the same. We get a lot of practice running back on defense.

I've always played point but I'm always one of the better shooters on the floor so when I get a look from 25 or in I fire it... Probably piss people off too but fuck it.

I just suck at defense since I'm short and white, and then make stupid decisions trying to be pretty passing...

Seriously though, I'd like to find a league in Raleigh for next summer...

Also, which gyms around downtown have a full bball court that gets some action? I can't get in the NCSU gym obviously...

Cary's open league is pretty good. It's winding down though but if I were you I would look into it next summer. A league is very competitive (lots of former college players/serious pick-up players...), B league is so-so, C league is not very talented.

Corchiani has a team in the Cary B league..

Carlos King has a team in the Cary A league..

'B' League sounds like my level. I certainly couldn't hang with former college players though I played against a guy who ran with UM-KC at Method Rd a few times and hung in but he wasn't going anywhere near 100%...
