lowe's and home depot only sell a 6-foot cord, and i really need at least 8 feet (10 if i want the cord to have some slack)...there's no other way to arrange the washer and dryer in the space because of the way the doors open and the way that the vent/dryer jack and water lines are arranged

would it be easier to just make it myself?

I usually replace the outlet with a three-wire one. Cheap and easy.

Unless you've already got the outlet config you need. Then you're gonna have to either make your own or make an extension cord. That's the easiest thing to do: extension cord.

Just move the outlet.

jumper cables!

every time my wife moved when she was in college i had to change the damn cord. What is the fucking difference? do some dryers pull 10 amps more than others?

the jack is already installed and it would be A LOT easier to just buy a longer cord than to move the jack or convert it, or even to make an extension cable

i guess, though, out of all the options, the extension cable is my only one...since i can't find any longer cords online...am i going to burn my house down?
