I bought a house, and the cable jack is on the opposite side of the room than I want it to be on. It's a pretty big room and I dont want to run a cable accross the floor. Does anyone know if time warner or directv will install a second jack? (im sure there is a cost, but no idea how much)

Timewarner installed a couple for us when they came to connect our cable. I don't remember it being expensive. I'm not sure if you have to have their service for them to do it. I would start with whom ever you have your service with.

its on the bottom floor. there isnt a crawl space. the satellite dish that came with the house is installed on the roof, and there is a cable that runs down the side of the house and through the wall into a cable jack that is inside. What I want to do is put my jack on the opposite end of the house, on the same floor. I have a flatscreen tv that I want to hang on the wall.

Do you have DirecTV and TWC? I'll assume you get your tv service from DirecTV and have RoadRunner? That being said, I dunno if TWC would come out and hook your dish up to another jack, but I've never dealt with anything like that before.
