Picked up the 46" Bravia W4100 for $1300 at circuit city today.

I'm done now.

Is that Jawbone v1 or v2?

More important question.

Whats the difference between Alphi, ATT exclusive, and other Jawbones on newegg? Arent they all the same shit, other than the v1, v2, and v2ii

I ended up buying one of those 1.5 TB HDDs for $119 and an external enclosure for $18.

And then I bought a 64gb kingston data traveler 150 for $101 from some other smaller online place.

And that's it for me this year.

You can get a 1.5TB seagate drive from tigerdirect for $102 after 15% live.com cashback.

1.5tb drives have had a lot of bad reviews and die quickly - seagate has promised a firmware fix that will solve the problem but i wouldn't recommend them right now

tigerdirect's 1tb for $79.99 AR seems like the best deal atm

anybody seen any good deals on media servers or HTPCs? i was looking at a dell vostro 200 or 220 last night. $450 for a decent machine + 20in monitor

[Edited on November 28, 2008 at 12:43 PM. Reason : are the HP media servers any good?]

that "firmware fix" was released weeks ago. seagate's 1.5s are a good purchase, i would recommend them right now

Yeah, and for the most part I heard that the only complaints were if you put the drive under high use.

For the most part, I'm just going to use mine for semi-long term storage, so I should be fine.

So after my laptop died this past month I decided to either build one or wait for yesterday to find an uber special desktop since my laptop rarely moved over the last few years.

I got this from bestbuy:
HP a6614f Desktop with 21.6" LCD Monitor, Inkjet Printer & Antivirus

http://tinyurl.com/6aua4b

quad core, 6 gb ram, and a 640 GB hard drive.
THe video card sucks so was thinking about that Radeon HD 4650 listed above from newegg to replace it.
I do know it has an open PCI-e slot so thats not a big deal.
I plan on hooking it up to my bravia XBR LCD to serve as a networked DVR/burned DVD player.
THink it would work? I dont game but eventually may add a blueray drive and would want 1080p capability
Also, Ive heard people saying that its worth getting a better PSU. but why? not enough juice in a 300Watt one to run said technology?

usually no

especially since you've got a quad core cpu and are planning on a new video card

I didn't buy anything. Just because it's a good deal doesn't mean I should buy it.

Chicks get chastised for buying crap on sale all the time.

yea, i got like 2 or 3 small items, but in general i didn't think any of the black friday deals were any better than the rebate deals have been in the last year, especially electronics, i mean the black friday deals were like $5, $10 dollars off here and there, not a huge amount of savings like in years past.
