With electronics being cheaper this time of the year, I'm curious what you guys think of getting extended warranties for your higher-end products through SquareTrade. I've heard lots of horror stories of people who sent laptops/tv's to CircuitCity/BestBuy's 3rd party warranty service people and having their shit abused and never sent back after months, and extended OEM warranties costing $texas, but SquareTrade seems to offer extended warranties on pretty much anything - new or used - pretty damn cheap - no questions asked. Anyone used it? Would you consider getting one (say, $150 for 3-years on a $1300 HDTV)?

Why would you think a single company that also contracts out their warranties is going to be any better than Best Buy/CC/whatever warranties?

And with TVs, the Best Buy's around here don't contract out repair service, they have a TV repair person that works exclusively for Best Buy.

ST warranties are normally cheaper, right? That would be reason enough if the service gets high marks.

ive bought squaretrade warranties on two different items, never had to use it though.

I just bought one for my Nexus 7. Ended up paying about $30 for 2 years accidental coverage. Everything I have read has been absolutely amazing. I bought the device from Sams club, which offers an extended manufacturing warranty without the accidental coverage (although the reviews are horrible). I figured it was the best option for me.

Mainly what people praise about is the cheap accidental coverage and quick turn around times

I just got a new laptop and new phone, need some discount codes!

They used to give these things out like candy, but I haven't seen any for a while. Can anybody hook me up?
