Easily the best looking game out

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=fdf4f1773666296791b20cc0d07ba4d2e66f2dcbbe596359

download all 5 parts, unzip the first one, burn the "contents" folder to a CDR

throw it in your xbox, go to the game demos section and it should be sitting there

Enjoy

I can get it to work. The Content folder keeps giving two errors upon un-archiving it, and its also registering at 0 bytes. Any ideas?

I say we keep this as the official thread because it has a clean title and I don't want that Erudition Terminal bullshit at the top of this forum for the next 6 months

Anyway the demo is badass as fuck....best graphics I've seen

The old control scheme (inventory, use, combine, equip) takes a minute to get readjusted to since we're so used to reloading on the fly

But I for cannot wait for this game

I'm still not sold on the very slow first person shooting aspect of this game. Kind of takes away from the game when a zombie charges across the level only to stop and start walking menacingly 10 yards in front of you.

I'll be keeping local co-op friends only

With the way fuckers are on Halo/COD I can only imagine what these kids say about a game based in Africa

I'm not crazy about the game being co-op the entire way through, even if the AI can play Sheva. I just imagine myself saying "Bitch, get out of the way" a good bit. It's alright for a level here and there, but this element has me less psyched than any of the previous installments.

it "seems" that it's alot less brainless in this game, she didn't die til i blocked the door and even then she was tryna get out before she got her head lopped off

FYI, the PS3 demo is up on the JPN PSN store. Yeah, maybe it's because I've been playing Dead Space for the past week, but the controls really did bother me. RE5 just felt archaic in comparison. I honestly no longer have any interest in this game. Time for another reboot Capcom.

Oh, and the graphics were nice, but in all honesty, Killzone 2 absolutely embarrasses anything else out on consoles visually. RE5 doesn't really seem that impressive anymore.

the controls completely turned me off as well

the controls wouldn't be that bad but they don't really fit the gameplay of this game when you have swarms of zombies coming at you. if this was more of an old school survival/horror game i don't think the controls would bother me nearly as much.

Excuse me, gentlemen.

But if the fact that you can't run and shoot makes you not like a game, you are in fact a "shit ass gamer"

/message_topic.aspx?topic=488565&page=2

I'm sure this game will control "fine, amazing, sublime".

i don't need to run but i would like a little fucking agility when i've got 20 zombies coming at me from more than one direction. you cannot tell me the controls in this game feel natural in any way shape or form.

this control scheme is good for traditional survival horror games. but the resident evil series has strayed from that kind of gameplay so i would like them to adjust the controls accordingly.

just played the demo on PSN for the first time and it breaks my heart to say I can't stand it. Have beaten 1,2,Veronica, & 4, I'm usually very excited when another RE comes out. The Co-Op, despite my earlier comment, isn't all that bad. But the controls are terrible. Being able to move while shooting really does make that big of a difference.

I will say my initial assessment was perhaps a little harsh. I played through the demo levels on co-op with a friend, and did have quite a bit of fun doing it. The controls are still grating and certain aspects of the inventory system are just stupid (really, I can't give just x number of bullets, i have to give the whole stack?), but the total package isn't bad. We'll see how the final product turns out, if it can match the consistent level of quality throughout that Resident Evil 4 had, I'll probably end up buying it. However, the AI partner is a fucking dipshit so unless they fix that by release, playing with a co-op partner will be mandatory.

I think that if I was being chased by a whole lot of zombies that I would do some run and gunning. Just me though.

Played the demo last night. I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about, the control scheme is exactly the same as RE4 and that was an amazing game.

I didn't enjoy it too much at first, but I liked it better once I switched to Control Type A (like RE4). He still turns too slow IMO, I don't know if that was true for RE4, I haven't played it in years.

^^The problem is that it's not 2005 anymore. Our expectations for how a game like RE5 should control have changed. I mentioned Dead Space because its same type of survival horror/action game and it controls beautifully. Look at MGS4, most recent entry in a Japanese game series notorious for poor controls. They totally westernized the controls in MGS4, ridding them of all complaints, and the game was far better for it. The game would have been just as popular with the fans had it controlled exactly like MGS3, but they took the extra step to make it perfect. This is Capcom just being stubborn.

The other issue is that, at least from the demo levels, RE5 finished the job RE4 started to the point where it's no longer a survival horror game at all. It's a 100% action game, and our expectations for how an action game should control are completely different from how a survival horror game should control. Survival horror games have been pretty notorious for being made artificially difficult due to poor controls, but action games have not. Having a character that controls like a stationary turret in an action game is just asinine.

Bottom line is just because something was ok then doesn't make it ok now. Again, despite all that, I did still have fun with the game and will probably end up picking it up. But the control scheme is just indefensible, and makes the game extremely unapproachable to anyone who isn't a huge fan of the series. Capcom should have taken a hint from Kojima and updated the controls for modern expectations.

^ I've done it before in the past, specifically when Mario galaxy launched with a $25 gift card from ToyRus. I did it at the best buy over next to crabtree mall.

Their price match policy, just print it if you think you'll run into any problems http://tinyurl.com/bgghd9

Quote :
"How do you handle a price match if an instant gift card is included with a purchase?
The value of an instant gift card with purchase will be considered when calculating a price match. If the combined value of a competitor's product and instant gift card is lower than the combined value of Best Buy's product price and instant gift card, Best Buy will match either the price or the instant gift card value, depending on the offer."
