Just bought a new laptop, it seems really nice. However the slot which I can stick my camera card in (F Drive) will not recognize the card unless I restart the computer. I am sure there is a function somewhere I can turn on, but after reading both the manual and tutorial guide and searching online, I can not find anything. Any idea where this option would be (I went through the control panel, nothing jumped out at me.)

vista?

edit: put the card in, go to control panel -> device manager, right-click on your computer (at the top) and "scan for hardware changes". see if that finds it.

Yeah it is Vista. That's all they sold at Best Buy. I think that may have worked. I can now freely remove and put back in the photo card and it reads it fine. I will try restarting in a bit without the card in just to see if it works for sure. Thank you.
