I honestly can not remember the last time I bought a CD. I'd say it's been 10 years and that's a very conservative estimate. And I haven't pirated any music in years either. AM radio FTW!!!

Last CDs I bought were Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak and MGMT's Oracular Spectacular.

Last CD I received was the Chatham County Line live album.

And my last vinyl purchase was Cardinology.

yes, buying someone's really laborious, artistic work, and using it as an invaluable emotional attachment and/or release.

quite a laughable practice, indeed

you nu-schools don't appreciate shit.

as soon as i find that on vinyl, i'm getting it

the EPs they put out before robbers and cowards are the last cd's i remember buying, other than shit at shows just to support the band

of course, i bought the EPs at a show, but that is beside the point

Schoolkids had Robbers and Cowards on vinyl. I THINK they had Loyalty to Loyalty on vinyl a few weeks back, but it's gone.

ask tschudi.

i appreciate everything i've downloaded and enjoyed. i appreciate it so much that i try to see bands i like in concert so i know more of my money will go directly to them instead of to a record company or retail chain. and with some of my favorite bands i'll buy their albums directly from their website for the same reason. drop the holier than thou attitude.

without money from the sale of those records, the record company isn't going to finance any of those concerts you go to... DICK.

I but about 1/3 of the music that I DL during the year. I but the ones that are worth it. Meaning, If I DL an album and dont enjoy it much or enjoy it for a month but then im sick of it and hardly plan to listen to it again then I probably won't be buying it. If I DL an album and really enjoy it and feel it is something that I will be listening to and coming back to regularly then I'll make an effort to buy it.

i'm thinking of buying a cd for myself today. should i get:
- the newish david byrne/brian eno album
- some sort of okkervil river album (haven't listened to them much, but am liking what i'm hearing)
- the she & him album (i think my gf might have this, so i might hold off)
- nick cave's new album (never really listened to much nick cave, but sound opinions guys unanimously picking it as their album of the year makes me think i should check it out).
- other suggestions?
