i mean tipping is legit if they have to pay for gas or make less than minimum wage. You don't see me asking for a tip at my job, because i agreed to make $x/hour.

But when you work at a job that accepts tips you agree to work at $x.xx per hour assuming you'll be taking in tips. Back when I worked at outback steakhouse I made $2.13/hour assuming i'd be able to make the rest of the money in tips.

If you don't want to tip, go pick up the pizza yourself lazy ass.

They are still providing a service.

like i don't see why i should tip people who are doing exactly what their job description says. If you go out of your way, or are extremely good/fast at what you do then yeah you deserve a tip i guess, but for the average waiter / delivery person there's nothing speedy or excellent about them.

I think it's kinda bullshit that I have to pay a delivery fee and a tip to the driver. I'm not the one providing the resources for the delivery service, they are

If you don't want to tip, you can always choose carry-out. That's what I do 95% of the time because I don't approve of the delivery fee.

If you insist on delivery, give them at least $3 dollar bucks.

I tip at least %20 per cents whenever I eat out.

I can understand your natural resistance to tipping though Big Business.

$3 ain't shit to me but the difference between 1-2 and 2-3 can mean more to them. I'm not rich by any means but I could wipe my ass with 3 dollars. How many of you waste 3 dollars on some bullshit like beer, candy, etc? Don't drink one beer at the bar and bam you have 3 dollars back.

20-30% on deliveries and non-buffet waiters.

15% on To-Go people, since they would normally be a waiter, they just happened to get screwed that night. They also make minimum wage and sometimes share their money with a Food Runner.

10% on buffet waiters.

The idea is not that you are paying a tip on top of a pizza that is worth $12.

If the company had to pay the delivery drivers more, that money would have to come from womewhere, and the pizza would end up costing you closer to $15 anyway.

Basically, you tip so that the food can be cheaper.

uh that doesn't make any sense at all.

what about people who don't get delivery? if that was true then whats the point of the delivery charge?

think of it like this...if drivers got paid more, their extra wages would have to come from somewhere...and it would come from more expensive pizzas...you're going to pay for it regardless
