Even though it may solve some fitment issues, wouldn't an intercooler with the inlet and outlet on the same side like this cause insane turbulence and pressure drop? Although my Rx-7 stock oil cooler is designed kind of like that, I would think the design issues are somewhat different for oil coolers.

As long as the inlet is separated from the outlet in the core as well as the end tank (as it is on your stock oil cooler), it's fine, though it sacrifices pressure drop for decreased temperature delta between the two mediums. The pictured intercooler does not appear to have separated chambers, which would have most of the air bypassing the intercooler core completely. I'd be wary of this thing, especially if it's cheap knockoff from ebay or such.

if you want an intercooler with inlet and outlet on the same side, get one like that with end tanks on the top and bottom and vertical bars and plates
