"MIAMI -- The Pro Bowl will be played one week before the Super Bowl in 2010 and both games will be staged in Dolphin Stadium, a person directly involved in the decision told The Associated Press on Monday.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because the NFL has not announced the move."

This idea, it is horrible. What NFL coach would want or allow their best players to risk injury and miss practice a week before the game that they've been playing for the entire season?

not only should it be played after the superbowl, but the team should be named after the regular season is over

I think the only reason 90% of the players go is to take their families on a vacation to hawaii

^^ Great idea.

Take the game meant to showcase the best players in the league and potential exclude many players since they've got something more important to do.

Brilliant.

Don't really care to much about the Pro Bowl, but damn what a stupid idea. Leave the game as is, move voting till at least the end of the regular season, if not after the Superbowl.

You move it before the Superbowl and take out the best players from the best (or close to) two teams? wtf

Super bowl players rarely played in the game anyway

I think its a great idea

Nobody watches the Pro Bowl now...after the Superbowl, people tune out of football until the combine and the draft

Now, it will be at the same site as the pro bowl and during a time when people are still hungry to watch it

The week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl is usually the longest two weeks of the year for football fans

Now, they'll have something to whet their appetites in the interim, even if it is a glorified exhibition game

I'm sure the players won't like it because they're losing an all expenses paid trip to Hawaii

But overall, its a good move for the league and the fans

i don't have to read the entire article to know that it's a stupid idea. a lot of players have things written into their contract that give them bonuses if they make the pro bowl. so what do they do, pick the better players but then if they go to the superbowl pick alternates? that's stupid too.

and if you want to point out something like extra info from the article that i may or may not have read, you can do it without being such a fucking douche bag. or maybe you can't, but try.

I agree with Slave Famous. I don't watch it anyway as it is now, so I'll be interested to see the new format.

Slave Famous convinced me (by reminding me of the most painful two weeks in football season), give it a shot and see how it turns out. If the Pro Bowl's able to keep any kind of decent ratings compared to previous years then go for it.

not to mention the overexhaustion of research, comparisons, predictions etc. during that period

I think the best part is watching idiot punters get blowed up on fakes.
