I remember when I found out you could put commands in the terminal for that game and make random objects appear

somebody would be chasing me and I'd place a giant planet earth to block them haha

that game had a kickass soundtrack too

Interesting. I wonder how many active people are in the community thus far? For as much as I miss T2, I think I miss Renegades even more. I don't know if it'd be worth going back...

Still, having one more chance to blow the utter living hell out of teams with the Thundersword bomber would be truly wonderful.

Well, I caved and installed this last night to get some nostalgia. Only problem is that I had forgotten how much I dislike playing just Base or Classic games. Whereas everybody seems to want stripped down fast-paced games, I'm the opposite in that I want lots of weapons, deployables, and most especially, vehicles. I forget which server I was in last night, but any time the map changed to a nice big map with a vehicle pad, the admin always changed it to something small without one. Maybe someone will start a Renegades server...?

I also remember that I used to have some great addons for this game, and playing them without those is really annoying. I'll bet I have them saved on a CD somewhere. I seem to recall having a great mortar range finder and a truly fantastic bomber range finder. I also seem to remember something about a minimap which would display on the HUD under the compass... Gonna have to do some research now.

Panama Jack's T2 scripts. This used to be the end-all-be-all scripter for T2.

I also read today that there's at least one Renegades server up and running out there. Gonna get on that and see how many people are active.

Yeah I'm sure people will dig up the old mods once news spreads that tribes is not only back, but it's free and everybody you know can play it. Plus just about every computer made these days should be able to run the game.

I, too, enjoyed the complexity of Renegades as I thought it was just about the perfect balance of items and weapons for a game to have. Some of the other ones were feckin' ridiculous. The community will come back, somewhat, as long as news about this spreads.

I've been playing Classic on the Goons server that always has a lot of people in it. I never really liked any of the mods, like to keep it simple.

I will be looking into this very soon. I played Tribes 2 way more than anyone should play a video game, I still miss it dearly

I doubt this will totally replace it, but definitely worth trying out.

its like wow, star wars battle front and warcraft 3 at the same time had shitty graphics and was for pc only
