If Tim Tebow comes back for his senior season, Florida has a great chance to get back to the national title game, if not win it

- They play 7 home games, and only 4 road games

- Georgia lost Stafford and Moreno, @LSU will be toughest regular season game

My Preseason Top 5:
1) Florida (if Tebow returns)
2) USC
3) Texas
4) Ohio State (Pryor is only going to get better)
5) LSU

Can't argue with 1-4, but I still don't like LSU.

I know they are young and looked great against Georgia Tech, but I still don't see them cracking the top 5...especially in the SEC.

Thoughts on Bama? Sure, they lose John Parker Wilson. But apparently everyone is loving Star Jackson there. I think they'll be tough again with all that talent.

^Hahaha, why does he do that?

Seriously, it can't hurt to gain an extra few yards. And if the guy rocks you a little late, you just get an extra 15 yards. There has been a few times were he just avoids getting a first down so he can run out of bounds a couple yards short (when NO ONE is around). Or he just walks out of bounds and loses a couple yards instead of tossing the ball away.

That's one thing I really like about Wilson. If he's going to lose a yard or two, he just throws it away. If he has the opportunity to gain an extra yard or two, he goes for it.

With Boeckman and Beanie gone, this ohio state team will be all on Pryor's shoulders(or legs)

They get the trojans in the horseshoe on sept. 12

OSU is losing Robiske and Hartline from their receiving corps

also, they are losing Laurenitis, Jenkins and Freeman from their defense.

I know that they mostly just reload and have some good recruits coming in, but its gonna be tough sledding next season. Hopefully Pryor works on his throwing a ton this offseason, if he can throw anywhere near as well as he runs, hes gonna be a beast

osu will be 3rd in the big eleven

texas and ou again clusterfuck the big 12, ironically neither wins the conference championship

usc will only lose once, surprisingly of course and take themselves out of consideration b/c the loss will be late in the season.

utah goes undefeated again but loses their bowl game and finish in the top 10.

alabama and florida clash again for the sec championship, it hinges on tebow being in the stands or on the field.

georgia will play well but lose to florida.

tech and state programs in the ACC all take another step forward with florida state and georgia tech in the acc championship game, (vt loses tiebreaker to GT)
ncsu finishes 8-4 after starting 1-3. and wins their bowl game (beats UNC)

NC State supposedly the darkhorse for the ACC title.

http://myespn.go.com/blogs/ncfnation?tag=predictions%200905

Quote :
"It's a new year, which means a new season and therefore, new predictions. Let's try this again, shall we? Here are five predictions for the ACC in 2009:

1. This year will be just as muddled as last year. Don't fool yourself, there is no frontrunner. Expectations should be high for Virginia Tech, but rival Virginia will have a new look offensively, and everyone in the Coastal Division -- including Duke -- will give them all they can handle. Florida State will take back the Atlantic Division, but not without a fight from NC State. The Seminoles will have a strong nucleus of playmakers back on offense, but NC State -- if it stays healthy -- could be the ACC dark horse.

2. NC State will have a quarterback controversy. It won't be like 2008, when Tom O'Brien started summer camp with five quarterbacks to choose from, but this situation might be worse -- keeping both Russell Wilson and talented redshirt freshman Mike Glennon happy and on the same roster.

3. Duke will come up short of a bowl game. Durham wasn't built in a day and either was Duke football. Let's give David Cutcliffe some time. Besides, his schedule isn't exactly favorable. Army, Kansas and red-hot Richmond are all on the nonconference schedule. Duke will host Maryland, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech, and travel to NC State, Virginia, North Carolina and Miami.

4. Miami coach Randy Shannon will face the most scrutiny he has since being hired. It's the do-or-die third season for Shannon. In his first year, he won two conference games. In his second, he was a contender for the Coastal Division, but flopped in the end and the success was overshadowed by Robert Marve's transfer and the firing of Patrick Nix. There has to be less drama and more wins in Season 3.

5. Florida State will win the ACC title and Bobby Bowden can finally say goodbye to the game he loves. Offensive coordinator and coach-in-waiting Jimbo Fisher will finally take over the big office, and he'll hire his own assistants. Of course, this would require somewhat of a down year for Penn State, so Bowden can rest assured he is the winningest coach in college football.

i guess it depends on what you mean by QB controversy

if Wilson is healthy, and he wants to stick with football, he should clearly be the starter, unless Glennon looks unbelievable in practice

there will definitely be a controversy in the sense that you want Wilson and Glennon happy, but I think Glennon realizes this is Wilson's job to lose

for the majority of the season, Boeckman got ZERO snaps. I think the only reason he played as much as he did against Texas is b/c he was a senior.

Quote :

Hartline is still only a junior, and hasn't declared anything yet. However, I think the WR corps should be better next year with Posey and Thomas being more involved; both of them bring a great deal of speed.

pryor as a receiver looked good in the red zone

if he isnt ready to thread the needle next year and the defense hones in on his legs in the red zone... maybe tressel should put his pocket passer-esque qb in and pryor at receiver

No, not that. There's just no need to be a prick to the guy that comes along and posts a link for story details.

\/ I just got a text that said Hansbrough tripped over his dog and will be out for the season, so yes.
