what Tim Tebow is to college football.

Both are treated as gods and can set all sorts of ridiculous records. And both will be considered one of the best college players of all time in their respective sports.

But neither is too attractive to professional teams. Thoughts?

Tebow has 2 national titles...at least he backs up his hype, and also in a game where its harder for one individual to make a difference...why hasn't Hansbrough willed his team to a title?

although nobody is fawning over Hansbrough helping the poor or doing anything off the court/field

WTF, if you think Hansbrough will be considered one of the best all-time, you're smoking crack. I still have no clue how he broke Ford's record.

it's really quite simple...

someone looks at Hansbrough the wrong way, refs blow the whistle

voila

Please, we do not need anymore Hansbrough threads. Seems to me like many people here are just as obsessed with blinky as the media. Let it die.

This is silly. He will be the ACC's all time leading scorer. I don't like JJ Redick, at all... but I can at least recognize that he is one of the ACC's top players. Obviously not DT or Ralph Sampson level, but Top 10 in the ACC in terms of college players (no MJ shit)

Both can "WILL" their teams to victory, even though their teams are favored 98% of the time.

^I wondered if he played his freshman year. Apparently he did.

"In his 123 career games, Ford averaged 18.6 points and 6.1 assists per contest. A three-time first-team All-America in 1976, 1977 and 1978, Ford directed Carolina to three straight first-place ACC regular-season finishes as well as ACC Tournament titles in 1975 and 1977 and the NCAA championship game in 1977. Ford, who started at the point guard position four successive seasons, was named the National Player of the Year in 1978 by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association, the National Association of Basketball Coaches and The Sporting News."

I hate them both, but Hansbrough is much more of a cock sucker.

See the difference is...I just hate hearing about Tebow in the media. From all accounts, he's a pretty decent guy, he's won 2 national championships, and he gator chomped that guy which was awesome (the cock smoking about it was not).

On the other hand, I hate Tyler Hansbrough in the media, but I also hate him as a basketball player and a person. For as much bullshit as I read about how hard he is fouled, nobody ever talks about how much traveling he has gotten away with over the last 4 seasons. I admit, its not as bad as it was his freshman year, but god fucking damnit....Brandon Costner can think about traveling and get called for it, where Hansbrough has to take 6 steps before it gets called.

Plus, i know for a fact that he is actually retarded, and he is a total douche in real life.

Hansbrough would probably make a good TE. He has good hands and is good at bumping into people on his way to a score. So..yes, they could have football in common.

Seems like the answer is right there, Ford was a point guard, his job is to feed the ball to someone to score, Hansbrough is normally just taking shots when he gets the ball underneath. 6.1 assists per game, lets say only half of those result in shots made, for an extra 6 points a game x 123 = 738 extra points that Ford would have had on average if he had kept the ball and took the shot himself.

Of course that's not an exact analogy, but you'd have to agree that point guards cause a lot of points for the team through passing and setting up plays.
