Will the UN step in? What can anyone do? It’s like a Gorilla Stomping a Mouse. What about the 'American superpower' steps in? Sucks to see that but is there a 'limit' that must be reached in deaths to trigger a STOP?? Is there and innocent death limit before another nation steps in? Must feel bad to see all bloodshed and tears on TV and then step outside in our own world and go "grab a beer" That’s the American mentality huh. Well things are just all messed up. Why Why Why??? So if America does step in, what will they do? Well one thing is that they could send a message and say "bad Israel, tisk tisk please stop? But that’s probably to the extent. IF a Muslim state steps in then America backs Israel and more innocent DEATHS. So I guess we will have to sit and watch people.
How much more public outcry will there be? Who knows? My original point got erased so I just whipped up something similar To Kick the Knowledge to you.
So I don’t’ want to pick a side because I did not know Israel’s true reason for invading. It might be true that there were weapon smuggling or harboring of terrorists but I’m just against the innocent deaths and the ILLEGAL phosphorus attacks as stated in the Geneva Convention.

There are a couple of factors. For one thing, with the presidential transition, there pretty much isn't anything that can be done right now. Even if Bush were to stomp his feet and swear at the Israelis on public television, they'd probably just hang tight until the 20th and a new president comes into office, and who knows how long it will take for a new administration to step in and do something. Really, the only way to get substantial action is to have the two presidents or their staffs come out with a joint statement, but it seems Obama is sticking with "one president at a time" line until next week.

As for the phosphorus attacks, from what I gather, its not that the Israelis are intentionally dropping them on civilians, more that they're simply using them indiscriminately to light up targets without much consideration for where the stuff lands after shooting it. Not to justify the use of the stuff since I think Israel's entire Gaza adventure is going to bite them in the ass down the road, but there is a distinction between intentionally targeting civilians with it versus unintentionally hitting civilians with it.

Yeah, I should have mentioned that. The Israelis are using WP aggressively for targeting purposes. Unfortunately, in a heavily crowded place like Gaza, some of the stuff is going to inevitably hit civilians with gruesome results. I imagine that the Israelis are going to have to back off its use eventually for that very reason.

I read that Israel was saying they were being fired upon from the UN building. The UN is saying "yeah right," as I am also saying "yeah right." Believe what you want.

Even if someone by the UN Gaza headquarters threw a rock an israeli soldier like Israel is claiming, it wasn't appropriate to blow up UN's headquarters in Gaza, filled with refugees trying to flee the violence.

I think we should all speak against it. We organized a silent protest couple of days ago in the brickyard. see the a short video here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHC49kQTGj4&feature=channel_page), and spread the message.

While I am glad for what we did in a short time, I found that our outreach is limited to 150 students in NCSU (<0.4%, including ourselves). If you have any suggestion or you can provide help to increase our outreach let me know or suggest it here!?

I think all of us should point out to the bad results from both sides, so we hate the war and not hate each other. By this time, we will be able to work together to achieve peace. It is so Nobile thing to work hard for.
