Cast your votes people. I'll keep a tally.

My vote goes to Full Metal Jacket, but that's probably mostly because of my...fond...memories of Paris Island (even though the movie wasn't shot there)

If we are counting Band of Brothers then that gets my vote. Otherwise Apocalypse Now gets my vote.

I too would like to vote for the Band of Brothers box set if you want to count that as an insanely long movie.

y'know, up until this thread, I had never heard of anyone else liking The Thin Red Line.

Whenever I brought it up as a great movie, I'd get all these WTF looks and complete disagreement.

I'd put it second after Full Metal Jacket in my mind, not having seen band of brothers.

Full Metal Jacket SUCKS after the basic training scenes. And having gone through basic training I have flash backs every time I watch FMJ, then I turn the movie off after Pyle blows his head off.

Guess I'll go with Band of Brothers although there are so many others that I can watch over and over.

and, finally, i have an embarrassing confession. I've seen every movie posted in this thread except for:

Apocalypse Now

I know, that means I absolutely suck....and I've meant to watch it for years now.

wait, never seen Jarhead, either.
