I would have to say after playing the first two Fallout games the ending of Fallout 3 was NOTHING, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, compared to them.

ff8 and ff9 had awesome endings. because those CGI sequences were cutting edge at the time. having like 15 minutes of it was so awesome.

yea, i loved the lucas arts turned based games...

you fight like a multi headed/tiered totem at the end....i had 2 of those heavy hitting npcs, a ranged spear dude and a the main hero...i could hit those triple affinity combo points every time....great fun

Yeah Legend of Zelda has to be considered for the same reason. The ending itself wasn't so much, but suddenly discovering you had an entire extra Zelda game was in-fucking-credible.

there aren't many that are very memorable - i seem to remember some of the Final Fantasy Game Endings the best because they were so long

i beat Silent Hill 2 like 4 times so I could see all the endings

I actually thought the Tekken series had some great CGI endings for each character - it actually made you want to beat the game with every one of them

is that even real? Thought it was just a urban pubescent boy myth.

But Super Metrois is way up there in endings just because you have to play through it with a super rainbow mega-laser and you get to see all of the levels that you spent so much time finding get blown up to shit. So awesome that I think I'll get back to playing it next week.

I would also say Castlevania: Symphony of the night for kind of the same reason. You get to the end and then blamo, reverse castle and 100% more game.

I definitely remember beating Tekken 3 again and again just to unlock those videos, and it was cool because you could access them from the main menu once you'd unlocked them.

I liked the endings for Final Fantasy IV and VI (or 2 and 3, which ever numbering scheme is considered official now). KOTOR was a good ending too. KOTOR II suffered from being rushed to market, slicing out large chunks of the ending scene that would have really pulled the storyline together. There's supposedly fragments of it embedded in the final release that when pieced together made the game's story a lot more coherent.

Metal Gear Solid 3 had a great ending. I concur with the Twisted Metal endings, especially Twisted Metal Black. Some of those were just bad ass.

And how about Double Dragon 1? If you are playing 2 player and beat the last boss, you actually have to fight to the death with player 2 to see who gets the girl. Now that's bad ass.
