i find it funny that if you put in that you got a tax rebate of $600 last year, it makes you PAY an extra $600 this year.

if you say you didn't get one last year, no change.

fuck yeah. i read it online and tried it out myself. the refund is larger if you say you didn't get one.

It's probably that you qualify for the rebate so your return is 600 more, but if you already got it, then it would take that away. The payment was based on 2007 tax returns even though it is technically applied to 2008.

That way people like me, who graduated in May 2008 (was dependent on parents taxes for the 2007 year) can now get the rebate this year.

There should be an IQ and/or basic literacy requirement to do

...anything in today's society.
Otherwise, how are people gonna apply for welfare?
