not only that, Van Gundy didn't say that you don't storm the court on a home win. He was echoing the sentiment here that you don't storm the court when you're the number 4 team in the country, which is why I didn't quote him, since the "it" in my statement referred to what had already been uttered in here.

I was front row behind the basket when that happened. Literally only 3 guys ran out. It was a very exciting finish and we all felt like running around, but not onto the court. I watched the broadcast later and the dumb ass announcer said at the buzzer: "And the students rush the court!" I felt embarrassed for our entire school.

I think the "never rush the court" people's argument is that it wouldn't be ok to rush if NCSU was #13 and UNC was unranked. I.e. ranked teams shouldn't rush, especially against unranked opponents. Not sure how rivalries factor into their equations.

THere were people on here bitching about State rushing the floor when we beat UNC 2 years ago and Duke in 04.


Its a fair question to ask, why, as the former #1 team from a week ago, would you rush the floor, after beating the second #1 ranked team in 3 weeks?


And I think had they all rushed at the same time, it would have been fine, but it was this half assed, nobody wanted to, then all of a sudden everyone did.

I think Wake fans are still getting used to being an elite team. Even in the Chris Paul/Tim Duncan eras, they were only slightly above average as far as ACC teams go. Consistently knocking down top teams is new to them, so they don't know how to react just yet
