No son. There is no point in cheating. I can play you face-to-face if really want to see how good I am.

^^Show me one better.

You don't get it. Its not about the badass words, there are hardly any triple multipliers used, and that was strategy. Using large letters ( Q for example) without your opponent being able to make a good score off of it as well. You can't see me in Scrabble, because I can see you don't know what's going on here.

Nah, I ain't calling him out. I would really like to meet a good Scrabble player in person. He might even be better, but guess what, that's what I like so I can learn new things.

I promise I don't need to cheat. I have spent a lot of time studying random word lists, so it may appear to you I am cheating because I will probably play a lot of words you don't know. I play Scrabble competitively, and I also play in a Scrabble club every week. Feel free to look me up on the NSA website. My name is Jim Brooks.

Well I live near Albany, NY right now, but when I used to live in Raleigh, I played at a club that met in Cary at Barnes and Nobles.

I was. I typically play several games each day.

I will say I used to think I was really good at Scrabble, but you would be absolutely amazed at some of the people who show up at these tournaments. They literally have every word in the Scrabble dictionary memorized (up to the 9 or 10 letter words). That's about 24,000 7-letter words, 30,000 8-letter words, and 30,000 9-letter words. Plus of course all the 2's through 5's (a lot of people neglect the 6's... some don't) and study all the probable 10+. These people are amazing. Not just the fact that they can memorize the words, but because they can find them on their racks.

Haha and as to the nerd thing, it's true. Most of the people who play are either 50+ or socially inept. There are a few exceptions. I mean I am way cool.

Well, I am reasonably good and I know it. I can reasonably be competitive. I beat the scrabble game I got on Maven a few times, and thats just as strong as any human player you can get. Its doesn't hold anything back, and it KNOWS all words and best plays.

^ I'm cool too! This is a new age where you listen to gangsta rap and still whip some ass in scrabble.

Also on a side note, you should wait for as big time tournament and go there and play. You look to be about on the level I was on when I started, maybe even a bit better. I got started by playing a game called Wordox, then switched over to Yahoo Literati, then finally Scrabble. The first time I played a real person was at the club in Cary, and someone suggested I go to a tournament they were having in Knoxville, Tennessee. I did, and played at the very lowest division and absolutely dominated. I think I went 15-1 or something, easily taking 1st and winning about $300 or so. That was nothing with regards to prize money though. If you find a "big" tournament and go and play (and win) the bottom division, you could easily make over $1000. Now I typically play in the division right below the first one. I am competitive, but I am not good enough to win the whole thing at that level yet.

Haha, level when you started HAHAHA.

Dude I have playing for years now, and its not about all about making badass words, its about working the multipliers more so IMO.

Haha what I mean is the level when I actually started to play competitively. Trust me, and I don't mean to sound like an ass here, but there is NO way you could beat me on a consistent basis. I have scored over 600 points several times, and crack 500 on a regular basis. You are obviously good enough to beat me, but not over a large sample size. There's a dude I play with at the club who is 5-2 against former world champions, and I am 2-3 against him. I am pretty sure he is not naive enough to believe he could sustain much more than maybe a 20% win rate against those guys, and I know I probably couldn't sustain a 20% win rate against him. And I sure as hell know if I could beat a world champ 1 out of every 20 times I would be lucky. It's the same as the Appalachian St. beats Michigan, who beat blah blah blah, who beat USC thing.

Oh, I got you. Sorry for taking that wrong. I can tell by the way you talk you are good. But as long as I win a few I will be satisfied.
