my friend has a 96 ford f150; the truck will crank and everything, but it would not change gears at all. the gear shift moves up and down rather freely, like it's not catching or something. anyone know if thats a know issue for a 96 f150? or what could be the cause, and if it would be a costly repair? hope someone can help. 2/4/2009 4:55:15 PM |

Automatic I'm guessing? Check your fluid level and smell the fluid to see if it smells burnt. 2/4/2009 5:10:43 PM |

It should go without saying, but just in case: be sure to chock the wheels, put the parking brake on, or have your friend on the brakes while you're doing this. 2/4/2009 8:54:34 PM |
