I just installed a copy of Office 2007 on my desktop and it works fine.
I install the same copy on my laptop and any time I bring a file from my flash drive and try to load it up it sais "the file (whatever its called) is not available."
It was from office 2003 so I wrote some jibberish and saved it and when I tried to open it up I got the same error.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Try plain text files written with notepad just to make sure it's not the flash drive.

run this in a command window where x is the flash drive letter assignment

close all programs using files on the flash drive first

chkdsk x: /R /X

free space verification is complete.
windows has checked the file system and found no problem.

it sais 1,995,079,680 bytes total disk space
65,536 bytes in 2 files
1,995,014,144 bytes available on disk

32,768 bytes in each allocation unit
60,885 total allocation units on disk
60,883 allocation units available on disk.

it doesn't even open up files i just typed up in it.
