I know there is already a Friday the 13th thread; but this is where you post the unlucky (or just unpleasant) things that have happened to you today.

I've had a shitty day thus far. I thought we had no homework due in partial differential equations, but then, when riding the bus to campus, I reviewed my notes and saw that there were two homework problems due (in about 40 minutes.) So I wrote down shitty quarter-solutions that will maybe get me 2/10. So now I will have to work really hard and do everything perfectly for the rest of the semester, to get an A. This pisses me off.

I am off to class now; probably, in keeping with its being Friday the 13th, this thread will turn out badly.

I really doubt your laziness and lack of organizational skills was due to friday the 13th

I think that differential equations is the absolute least of your concerns. I am thinking, perhaps pre-algebra should be what you are worried about. If getting a 2/10 on one of probably 15 homework assignments, which by the way make up (most likely) 10% of your grade, will cause you to not get an A, perhaps you should look further and examine the true root of the problem. I mean, this assignment is probably less than 1% of your final grade. This is like blaming the guy at the ticket counter, who didn't recognize all the Habibs and Ahkmeds were terrorists, for what happened on 9-11. Way deeper root cause my friend.

The late HW policy is that late HW is not accepted. HW counts for 1/4 of the final grade, and homework assignments are usually 1-2 problems, 5 points per problem. We don't have HW every week, so there will probably be about 12 homeworks this semester. Thus, getting a 0 on this assignment could easily cost me 2-2.5 points off my final grade. Which could certainly make the difference between an A- and an A.

I know what you're talking about; I have to smother my laughter when my Calc 1 students stress over Webassign questions that count for about .03% of their final grades. But this shit matters.
