I think it had more to do with him being sick of those games. I mean why are you going to set up a get together like that, provide food/drink, then have it devolve into everyone playing games you've played 1000 times before? While that might be a little bossy on his part, since he was the one who provided the space and the food it's not too hard to understand.

that's exactly the point. i was less calling you/him a loser and more saying WTF MATE. the idea is to bring people together and have a good time playing games. if some people want to play smash together, then for fucks sake let them.

Man I miss playing AvP2 at a LAN, have one person be the predator / alien and like the 8 or so others be marines. Make sure no one has their gamma turned up and let the good times roll.

i don't frequent TWW nearly as much as i did back in my college days but it's nostalgic to see a lot of familiar names in this thread. my friends and i only did the BAR LAN once. it still seems to me more effort than it's worth unless are there tournaments+prizes or large attendance.

i only remember playing the hell out of the classic CS and occasional UT series. i personally hated when students did SSB on console...at least let me watch/play a real fighting game.

agreed. popular MMO's suck in most of computer gamers into that particular game only. I got tired of it and switched to console (mostly FPS games) and am having a blast.
