"Jason Sobel offers an insider report that claims Tiger Woods did not injure his knee. Rather, he was "faking it" in order to spend time with his newly expanded family and still maintain obligations to his contracts with Nike and Gatorade. Outside The Lines will expose the elaborate plot in which Woods, his agent, his publicist and famed orthopedic surgeon, Thomas Rosenberg, worked together to hide the truth"

i wonder if it would affect a relationship with his sponsors and his endorsements and stuff

all that time he could have been using their equipment/wearing their logos

Yeah, it's been so long everyone has forgotten who his sponsors were. What were they, like Adidas and Cadillac or something?

highly doubt it...why would he of changed his swing so much w/ his left knee if he didn't need to for medical reasons?

Maybe the swing was truthfully hurting him and he needed time to practice the new one...

so you're saying that all those shots that went a mile off line at the open last year were hit there on purpose, and there was no luck involved in hitting balls into trees and getting a lie/line that he could work with?

Like on saturday, he missed the green on 17 on purpose, got a crappy lie/stance, and chipped in because he was just faking it?

right.

I think thats the key. He was playing so well, that i find it hard to believe he would miss 2 majors at the top of his game for a "fake" injury. I know this is a troll thread, but I've heard this discussed before so whatever.

I think this may actually help him. My biggest problem with him is he is very much like a robot. He always seems dull and unhappy unless he drains a long put. He just doenst seem fulfilled. I like the idea of him putting his career on hold to be a human. At least if this story were true we'd have proof he is indeed human.

I could buy it.....if his knee was really THAT bad he wouldn't have even been able to play.

Hopefully our own Tim Clark takes him out in the next round though.

His knee WAS that bad. He didn't hurt it the week before the open. With that said, I highly doubt his ACL was ripped into 2, but with the amount of stress he put on that with most of the swings he made, a partial tear would be bad. But they're also talking structural damage as well, which would be the source of most of his pain during that tournament.

He's been saying this week that the knee has been unstable for a long time. I noticed him limping on it during the masters last year.

I'm sure Tiger would fake the injury, miss two majors when he is playing the best of his career, and make it take longer to catch Nicklaus because that will let him spend more time with his family. That makes sense.
