"Orion" Hell Yes

I was hoping they would release a Metallica band set but I guess I will have to buy World Tour to go with it.

No offense to them or anything, but what the fuck are Mastodon, Foo Fighters, The Sword, and System of a Down doing on that setlist?

comeon now, it has a nice mix of old and new, plus some nice pull-ins from other bands.

i don't think the set list is that bad.

i mean, i'm stoked to see:
creeping death
fade to black
for whom the bell tolls
hit the lights
master of puppets (!!)
orion
shortest straw
welcome home
whiplash

sounds pretty good to me. plus stacked actors is a kick ass song. blood and thunder would probably be decent fun too.

I hope they don't wuss out on the difficulty. The average difficulty on the World Tour setlist is so much easier than GH3 because they had to take vocals and drums into account. They'd better be taking their metal fans seriously and not watering down the strum charts just because the franchise has a wider audience now.

Are metal fans better GH players in general?

Not necessarily, but metal songs are harder to play on GH on average than other songs, so the relative lack of metal songs in World Tour as compared to GH3 was disappointing for a lot of good players, as evidenced by all the bitching on the ScoreHero forums.

Although the real gung-ho "RAAAAWR DEATH TO FALSE METAL" metalheads gave up on Metallica about 20 years ago, so they'll probably shit on this game no matter how hard it is.

This one is going to incorporate the double bass and include an extra difficulty level. I have not played World Tour yet but this sounds pretty difficult. I reserved my copy yesterday at Gamestop to get the free bass pedal add-on.

Wow. That's one song by them that I just can't listen to anymore. I guess it's because when it came out they played it 20 times a day on the radio.

^i've never heard it on the radio.

i just thought whisky in the jar would be a good song to play on GH. i'm probably in the minority, but that song is probably my favorite metallica song. then again, i've never really been a huge metallica fan, so....

Christ, Lars can go fuck himself.
No, not for being a douche, but for those GOD DAMN DOUBLE-BASS PEDALS.
Personally, I'm impressed. If they were trying to make the drummers happy, they succeeded. Dyer's Eve can still GO DIE IN A FIRE, but whatever.

I really like it so far. I have only played it on guitar on medium first to unlock all the songs for when I have people over then I will go through and play the drums and then guitar(Hard). It is pretty cool that they have live videos of the songs on the game even though the only one I watched was pretty bad quality.

whiskey in the jar is a traditional irish song. its origins are unknown. i do find it funny that someones favorite metallica song was written by someone else. kinda like how arnold swarchenegger's best acting role was emotionless robot.

that was a pretty gay commercial. the one i saw on tv a couple days ago was just as stupid. same intro song, nobody shows up, metallica has michael phelps and crew tied to a tree outside, they blow up the house.

i'd be ashamed if i was them. it's pretty sad, looking back on where they used to be and where they are now.

metallica with Coach K and Roy - ugh

Billy Corgan writing songs for Hyundai Commercials

ah well at least the Visa commercial that used Today was pretty good

"I wanted more than cash could ever buy me.
Bored by the chore of cashing checks!
Credit card bills that never relent.
I tried so hard to pay down my debt.
My balance sheet grows worse every day.
My credit stinks!"

lol found that on youtube - for once a good comment

look, they got 3/4 of master of puppets, about half of the black album, key tracks from some others, and a smattering of newer titles just to round it out. you really can't complain about much here. they can't shove every single song in there, plus some others are available already as downloads elsewhere.

The commercial was ok for about one viewing. Now you turn on the news and they cover it in every news segment, they talk about it on the radio and anywhere else you turn. I'm quite sick of hearing about it.

I'm not sure how you'd play the rolling bass on that song without a double bass pedal. I got mine set up for two petals, but it's a bitch trying to set them up in a comfortable position due to how narrow the rock band drumset is.
